Reading #PoemsAloud from a 16th-century mystic, translated by @danadelibovi.bsky.social in her book, Sweet Hunter: The Complete Poems of St. Teresa of Ávila ❤️‍🩹 Beyond its Catholic context, this poem is an artifact of its time. Audio ends w/ lines from her most famous poem, 'Let Nothing Disturb You'🪶

Heavily overcast skies prolong the lingering darkness till well past sunrise, but eventually the duetting screech owls and the all-night migrants softly calling from the woods' edge fall silent, the crows disperse, and the wren, one imagines, must be off busying himself with matters of great import.

Garden posting today….. I love peonies so much!!! 🌸🌷🌱
Photo of a light pink and white peony from my flower garden!!! I haven’t done a lot of it lately, but gardening is honestly one of my favorite things in the world….. especially when it comes to my flower garden!! A photo of a pink peony!!! This is one of my favorite peonies from my garden….. all of the pictures I have of it are lovely, I really wanna paint these flowers someday!! I feel like watercolor would be perfect for these, I haven’t been able to capture how pretty peonies are in my art before…Another picture of a peony from my flower garden!! I don’t have as many pictures from my vegetable garden but I do have a lot of the flowers, specifically the peonies and roses!! Garden photography has always been really interesting to me, I wonder if I could get a decent camera for it one day….

You Won’t Like This But You Should

Sometimes people are best seen as places,
the one I love
is pure Mumbles:
a Newton Road, displaying its unfussy
honest charm;
that corner table too,
snug
at the back
of Joe’s Icecream;
where blue skies are always within reach
despite the occasional
and hurriedly bussed-through
rain.
