Saw something in the news, wanted to make the something about himself, inserted himself into the news cycle, and then when they were released is doubling down on that because it keeps him in the news. Classic Donald pattern tbh

Curtice identifies a key red flashing light in the MRPs - Labour are falling furthest in seats where Labour are first and con, ref or Nat are second. Labour therefore do a lot *worse* than uniform swing would predict (having done much better than uniform swing in 2024)

One funny thing about Trump is that everyone talks about him as if normal rules of politics don't apply, but 'second term US presidents approvals crater' is not at all unusual. And 'president's approval craters during economic crisis' is basically the rule.

really, this is a serious question: why on earth would Chris Christie imagine that anyone, anywhere, ever would want him to run for President? what sparks such a delusion? granted, his wife might enjoy having him out of the house & on the campaign trail; but better just get an inexpensive hobby instead.

One of the funny things about the BBC is it's so scared of its own reputation that it goes out of its way to placate an imaginary reader. The Times, for all its sins, knows what it is and can just point at the obvious criminality.

The old East–West divide is fading. Berlin’s electoral map is now clearly structured by a center–periphery divide: inside the S-Bahn Ring—the circular urban rail line surrounding central Berlin—the left camp dominates. Support for the right bloc rises with distance from the center. (1/2)

I really hate the framing of these stories as "an AI agent broke out and hacked something." No, an inadequate sandbox meant that a powerful and unpredictable computer program was set loose on the open internet by the company that designed it. The agency isn't with the "AI agent", it's with the firm
