Labour’s reluctance to name Brexit as the cause of so many problems hasn’t stopped Reform’s rise. It’s time to try the truth, says Guardian columnist Rafael Behr

Macron's three-pronged response to Netanyahu's accusations of 'antisemitic fire'
In a six-page letter, French President Emmanuel Macron said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had 'weaponized' the fight against antisemitism and urged him to 'end the desperate race of a murderous and illegal permanent war in Gaza.'

The most obvious question for journalists to ask Farage is whether he'd really be prepared - Trump-style- to send the police (and army?) into London to detain more than 200,000 Londoners. Because that is what this policy would mean, obviously. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The ITV news makes a similar claim, based on 200 people across three locations Friday (800 people across 8 places) and Saturday (2000+ across a dozen) were larger, so "a second day" is weird for this tiny trickle of protest today

The scale of the backlog arises because the Sunak government, while clearing the 2022 backlog, stops processing asylum claims of those who arrive in 2023-24, despite having no real world prospect of removing 99% of those it is accommodating, in limbo. No plan except to leave it to after the election
