administration's economic sanctions policies, Bessent called them ignorant and erupted at the owner of the restaurant for not removing them.
According to the owner and also a nearby diner, Bessent spit in his own food before leaving

interesting that conservatives were militantly “we must reward hustle” when the target was affirmative action at elite universities and now, when faced with the success of south asians and other groups, it is “i think we are too meritocratic”

reminds me of something an emmy-winning comedy writer said years ago in a shared group chat
I have a theory that a lot of the worst people (Ted Cruz, DOnald Trump) would not be in our hair if they had been able to be even remotely successful in the arts. I believe Elon Musk would give it all up for a couple of spots at the Comedy Store. Unfortuntely, people don't find carrying a sink funny so here we are
and if you've seen the videos of Ted Cruz "acting" in college, youd understand how running for senate was actually the only way he could get on tv

Trump historically wore Brioni, an Italian luxury company that makes suits in Italy. Here he flashes a Jos. A Bank label, a US company that long offshored its production to China and Bangladesh. They carry an associated label called Joseph Abboud, which is made in US. Curious he didn't choose that.
Donald Trump in a navy suit. He's opening the jacket, so you can see the label. A close up of the suit label says Jos. A. Bank.

There will be a lot of comparisons of Luca Guadagnino's Artificial (which had its world premiere Monday night at the New York Film Festival) to David Fincher's The Social Network. This makes a lot of ...

if you read kershaw’s biographies you are constantly reminded that hitler thought of himself as a gambler on such an insane winning streak that some higher power must have been involved and on his side. this was not an especially intelligent or thoughtful person. this was a guy from Goodfellas.
