Very very sad news. We have lost Tony De Meur - aka Ronnie Golden, he of The Fabulous Poodles, all round lovely human - and the world is a sadder place. Surely right now he is in a celestial bar swapping parrot jokes with Baz Cryer over a double.

Every time someone links to this film, I have to repost it. It's one of the most significant bits of British 20th century art. Everything about it is incredible. Groundbreaking music production by Daphne Oram. Amazing camera work by Wolfgang Suschitzky (who later filmed Get Carter).-

"In Another World: The Four Seasons of Talk Talk" by @graemethomson.bsky.social is the book that Talk Talk's truly other-worldly music deserves. Like the music itself, it is simultaneously intimate and epic, and is a must-read for any serious Talk Talk or Hollis-head www.amazon.co.uk/Another-Worl...

What on earth is happening?
This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.
