Esther Rantzen then. Sunday nights. A warm smile and a welcome. An hour of nonsense with a message. Utterly memorable moments. A serious journalist with a love of the ridiculous. A fierce supporter of those less fortunate. Quite the lady. RIP. Goodnight....

On my daily propaganda show tonight I will be pretending that Brexit wasn't a complete and unmitigated disaster based on the lies of a handful of rich grifting twats who don't give a shit about ordinary people.

I don't really do politics but Andy Burnham was good yesterday wasn't he? I can't help feeling listening to him that he was watching the early Zack Polanski "make hope normal again" social media onslaught. Zack may never be PM but he shifted the narrative in a quite extraordinary way.

Oh this album is wonderful isn't it. Should be part of the curriculum for kids learning about the English language. Ok, maybe not all of it but you know what I mean

This has become an ear worm from Ella Langley's album - Dandelion. It's such a country song. She's got it all but she's longing for Somethin' Simple. I imagine a mixed response ( if any...) youtu.be/tX6dLHlKNU0?...

Any goodwill and slack Pep may have had from the wider football community just vanished in a puff of smoke. I always thought the timing of his resignation was a massive red flag.

From Wikipedia The best-selling album of the year in the UK for both 1991 and 1992, the first album to be the best-seller in two consecutive years since Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge over Troubled Water in 1970–1971. What a wonderful record it is.

Train passes through Purley a vale-bound ghost of old suburbia now benighted and entropic. Deeply eerie and fascinating. It has the feel of some once grand Amazonian city subsumed by dank nature, an exhausted 20th Century hub dragged into desuetude by the thalloid might of the lower plants.

Can we at least just stop with the Pep Guardiola is the greatest ever manager bull shit. He should have won the Premier ten times with that advantage.

I don't know where to start with Manchester City. Who knew is my first thought. Pep? Then the players. They're in their twenties mainly. Offered a move in good faith. Take the money. Win the trophies. It's your job. One career, a fabulously profitable one, but now tainted forever. Haaland to Madrid?

Learning that people love this album, think it's The Smiths best continues to blow my mind. All the joy has gone, the ideas are thin. Marr plods around Morrisey's lyrics where he used to dance. Each to their own obviously I just don't hear what they hear.

Following yesterday's Choosin' Texas discourse and me realising I had heard it on Radio 2, enjoyed it, but did not catch what it was called. Then forgot about it. Old age.... I listened to Dandelion, Ella Langley's album and I'm reminded again how much I enjoy country music when I'm exposed to it.

I love watching the skill of professional golfers. It's unbelievable how good the top players are. USA Vs an International team is on Sky Golf. It's the very best against each other. It's rendered unwatchable with the sound by US golf supporters inane yellin' and a hollerin'. These guys voted Trump.
