I work at a high-end clothing store and clocked in to my manager telling me about the most unhinged interaction from yesterday. A woman walked in asking if she could use a 40% off code she got online. We're in the middle of a race to the bottom, where authors use LLMs to generate more and more proposals, so funders use LLMs to screen proposals to keep up with increasing submission volumes. At some level of "LLMs evaluating LLM-generated submissions," you've gotta ask what we're even doing here.
