CAT DISTRIBUTION NETWORK, I NEED YOUR HELP, esp if you're in the C'ville/DC region! A friend of a friend and her husband have to move home to her parents' house due to an unexpected job loss, and the parents won't allow her 3 young kittens. She needs a foster for about 6 months while they regroup.

Stunning footage! Also, if you can - grab some noise cancelling, low-freq. boosting headphones and listen to that sound. It's incredible. Something about the roar of the SRBs. I saw Atlantis launch and best way I can describe it is: It's like an ongoing thunder clap, sitting right on your chest.

Fascinating and deeply satisfying resolution to why adenovirus-based vaccines produced blood clots in 1 out of 200,000 people. Two factors interacted: a mutation in an antibody gene + weak similarities between a viral protein & a human blood-clotting protein = induced clotting cascade.

This is NGC 2264, also called the "Christmas Tree Cluster." It's a cluster of young stars about 2,500 light years away. They were 'born' during the Pliocene Epoch (2-5 MYA), about the same time as early hominids like Ardipithecus or Homo habilis, so they're barely older than humanity. 🎄💫🔭

The waiter recommended the haddock to Han Solo, who replied, "Never sell me the cods!"
Han Solo showed up on Vader's death star hours after Alderaan was destroyed. On his ship he carried: Vader's son, Vader's daughter, Vader's astromech, the protocol droid Vader built as a kid, the wookie who saved Ahsoka's life, and literal Obi-Wan Kenobi back from the dead.

Vader must have been very "who in the Mustafar was that fucker in the vest?!"

Then something like a day later he sneaks up on Vader (one of the greatest pilots the galaxy has seen) in what is essentially a heavily modified 18-wheeler and shoots him in the ass.

At 2.5 months post-harvest, only the purple/black fruit remains from that initial harvest. The high concentration of anthocyanin pigments is supposed to help discourage some spoilage molds, so this fruit remaining is good to see. I have plenty from a later harvest yet to be examined in detail.
