So much this. I have been saying that Accessible Design and Responsive Design are the same thing* since before smartphones. And yet both are STILL treated as an afterthought, bolt on or annoyance by many designers. *i.e. they're both ways of looking at Universal Design.

Delightful also to hear real eagle noises. In movies eagles are always dubbed with hawks, since hawks found fierce and eagles sound like adorable squeakers.

Magical creatures don’t exist, eh? Roughly 400 million years ago, before the birth of trees, there were giant mystery cones called “Prototaxites,” which grew nearly 30 feet tall. We literally have no idea what they were. Plant: no Mushroom: no Animal: no Tell me this isn’t a little bit magic

Low angle water's edge view of the skeleton of the West Pier in Brighton against a mostly blue sky. Sea is browny green.A crescent alleyway paved with shingle with archways leading into the vaults / tombs. This is the Circle of Lebanon at Highgate Cemetery. The scaffolded frontage of a building in Oxford Street, London which has been retained even though the entire building behind it is gone. Next to it is a seven storey building that has been retained, next to a completely empty lot (building demolished). End of the pier at Santa Monica. People are walking along the wide boardwalk looking out at the Pacific. Lamps with curved heads bend inwards over the pier.

This seems to reinforce their bigotries so they become resistant to being told they're being lied to no matter how obvious the evidence is that they're being lied to and exploited by the political grifters. In fact the more obvious it is, the more stubborn in their beliefs they become.

People REALLY don’t like being told they’re wrong. What the far right have done is weaponise this and tell people that the feelings of bigotry that they’re secretly ashamed of are actually good. And if deployed cunningly this works on far more people than you'd think, which is exhausting.

I have discovered that a way of making myself do something I keep putting off starting (could be quite a small thing) is to tell myself I don’t have to do it and that no-one's forcing me. Bam. Suddenly it gets done.

Have you ever had someone get your name wrong and then they keep calling you that so frequently (a name over-user) that you don't have the heart to correct them? Their confidence is sometimes so strong that you feel it would be too embarrassing for them for you to point out the mistake.

I am almost convinced that some objects evaporate. I'm not talking about little things like spoons or scissors. It's things like a certain jacket or top that I know I had, know I didn't donate to a charity shop, and know I didn't give away and yet it's not anywhere in the bloody house.

The capitalist obsession with “other people getting free stuff” is a symptom of their sickness that some people get taken in by because it’s more important to them that others suffer than everyone is OK. They see themselves as potential billionaires (not gonna happen).

Bizarre flyer for a restaurant / pub put through my door. Clarkson trying to look personable. Odd choice of mascot. The main association between Clarkson and dinner is punching people. Plus they don't actually use his name ANYWHERE on the advert.
Flyer with Jeremy Clarkson smiling reasonably while sitting at a table with a pint and a huge pie dinner in front of him. Text reads:

NB as someone with ADHD I have always suffered from being told I'm lazy (including by myself). This isn't that kind of laziness. I'm talking about the using-AI-to-write-emails-for-you kind of laziness. Cognitive surrender. It's far easier to let instinctive hate control you than thinking about it.

Chris Limb @catmachine.com · 24/09/2026
The far right do well by telling people their bigotry is good. Those falling for this then discover that they far prefer bringing others down than raising themselves up. It's easier for a start. Less mental effort. Laziness is the root of all evil.
