I have made a complaint about this and you should too.

My complaint to the bbc:
This article states that RAF Fairford has
"recently been used by US warplanes as a staging post for defensive strikes on Iran." This is a biased position, does not take into account the US's role as aggressor in this conflict, and would legitimise the US's illegal attacks on Iran. There is no benefit to adding the word "defensive" other than to provide public relations services to the United States air force, which is not the role of the BBC or any other news agency.

Actual Logie Baird LASER DISC. Worked on the principle that images converted to electrical impulses could be recorded much the same way as sounds converted to electrical impulses (something like that, I only skim read the relevant bit)

The two images that sold it to me

It's one massive concrete ceiling supported by steel joists and pillars, except for the middle where there's an open slot about 2m wide and 10m long through which bright light is shining and illuminating a set of steel pillars and mesh barriers

Big fan of the giant beach hut at Eastleigh

Photograph taken from a moving train passing through Eastleigh station. In the foreground are rusty looking rails, beyond that a row of shaggy shrubs and beyond that the buildings of an industrial estate, including one very tall one looking much like the sort of tent that a Punch & Judy show would be performed in. This is down to the shape and the way it's been painted in pastel blue stripes on white, which give it a light, Festival of Britain look

Dug this no man's land between the footbridge/lift and the outer wall of Wokingham station.

Looking through the space between a standard railway platform footbridge and lift, and the outer wall of the station. The wall is supported by brick pillars. There's a tall silver metal cabinet up the far end, and near to is the railway station equivalent of the cupboard under the stairs, where equipment and bags of stuff are kept. There are corners of white plastic bags poking out from between the metal railings that line that section.

The first of two books by Charles Keeping has arrived. Will post more later but this made me chuckle
