My four favourite facts about the cockchafer beetle: 1. It's called a cockchafer beetle. 2. It’s also sometimes known as a “billywitch”. 3. It’s unusually loud and clumsy by beetle standards and bangs into lots of things when it flies into your house by mistake. 4. It looks like this, close up.

I love this guy, he does a whole bunch of different accents across Canada. This is the first one I’ve seen from PEI. My mother and grandmother talk exactly like he says in the video. And he does mention that it’s very common in older generations rather than newer. #pei #charlottetown

I've decided to compile a definitive thread of photos of the best cattle I've photographed during my walks in the countryside, together with supporting biographical information. I will put the vital info about all the cattle in the alt text, since some of it is a little long to fit in a post.
A highland cow who has seven beers since lunchtime, walked a new way home, realised she is lost, and decided the best option for the time being is to go to sleep, using a moorland boulder as a pillow.
