Based on my experience living on a high frequency bus route, switching many services to electric buses solves most of the noise complaints immediately. It’s the poor design and soundproofing of low cost clanky diesel buses that is a prime issue

I keep telling German friends that they needn’t bother getting cash before travelling to UK. It’s at a stage now where people are astonished at the offering of cash when you pay. We are still a ways behind you on that.
