Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.

The common thread in Pete Hegseth's rant to the troops, JD Vance suggesting Talarico is a pedophile, Brendan Carr calling the Trump ads aired with tax dollars "normal force PSAs," and Eric Schmitt fabricating a Jack Smith conspiracy is the whole GOP is incentivized to be performatively evil.

one thing i think has gone genuinely missing in all the storms of the last few decades is that liberalism is not just some abstract theory of government, but a *personal ethic* that imposes demands of us even in our most everday lives an eerie balance of courage in oneself AND respect for others

Not sure it’s tenable if, going forward, every president knows that so long as they have firm control over DOJ, enough loyal senators to avoid removal, and are willing to issue blanket pardons on the way out, they can break any law they please while in office.
