if you support abolishing or drastically reforming the filibuster you should support as many D-caucusing candidates to win as possible, full stop. The more Ds win, the more Ds can abstain or vote against it without actually stopping it. Every + D sen is +x% chance of finally ending the filibuster.

With the midterm elections shaping up to be a massive reckoning for the Republican Party, it's worth remembering that they had a fairly easy offramp from Trumpism in the immediate aftermath of the January 6th riot but they completely chickened out.

I started my PhD program with an eight week old at home, sole income being my doctoral stipend, in a history program, in Knoxville, TN. And every month we got a new book to read to my son, free, mailed to us, so my kid, my kids, grew up in rooms full of books even when I had no money. That's Dolly.

One of my beliefs is that if you’re wrongly imprisoned for half a lifetime or longer, you not only deserve a payout but should receive a state pension for the rest of your life. The police officers who make this happen often have the most well-funded pension systems.

Just so everyone knows, this is a tried-and-true mainstream media tactic. For progressives/leftist candidates, every election is a “crucial test” and any loss would serve as proof to the media that the latest left-side moment is at its end. Any win, though, just means it’s time to find a new test.

Four years ago, Biden gave a speech warning about the dangers to democracy and the networks refused to air it because it was "political." I wonder if Trump making a partisan case for relitigating the 2020 election and calling for his political opponents to be jailed is going to be "political" too?
As Biden warned about democracy’s collapse, TV networks aired reruns
While broadcasters typically air a prime-time address by the president, they determined that this speech was more ‘political’ than newsworthy for live coverage
