I hate it when news media suck up to newsmakers by trying to wish things into existence. Two examples: The media chorus that Rahm Emanuel is presidential material and Axios pushing Eric Schmitt as the next vice president. Start reporting real news. Stop trying to make fetch happen.

These ads go in the same category as brazen, easily disproven lies after ICE killings. It’s not about persuasion. It’s a display of power. They could have passed them off as PAC-funded. They added “paid for by the U.S. government” because they want us to know they can break the law with impunity.

One of the things to come from GamerGate was the gamification of torturing real, live women...hounding them out of their homes, making them look over their shoulders for years. It was treated as a joke, nbd, the work of a few bad apples--as all terrorism against women is--& that failure leads here.

As I'm arguing in my paper, I ultimately really don't think vampirism "represents" anything in the film, and I think the belief that they must do so is indicative of a misunderstanding of how genre works. Vampirism *does* something in the film, but it doesn't stand in for anything besides itself.

I often look for maps, floor plans, and satellite imagery to create environments in the book, which allows me to describe movements through spaces in a consistent manner. In certain scenes, these visual references are a big deal to maintain continuity in the action choreography.
