Such a good thread both for letting you know what's going on in Paris and for showing standard police tactics. Telling protesters to disperse while blocking all the exits, singling people out with the intent to harm, and using tools that we know cause serious bodily harm? That's the cop playbook.

Yeah, he’s pretty much back to normal behavior. I do worry we’ve created a monster with the “unlimited snacking” policy we instituted in the first couple days when churus were all he would eat and we were just trying to get those calories in him whatever way we could. Gonna need a treat detox😅

Still needs to gain a bit more weight imo, although he’s always been on the svelte side. Will see once antibiotics are done if he continues fine or relapses &go from there

Also, I want to highlight this part of the case for all the pilots and avgeeks out there. I’ve heard ICE is doing this with manifests from a number of sources, but this is, as far as I know, the first confirmation. Really shows the complicity of the pilot-in-command. This was an Omni flight.
In the latest court filing, ICE officials did not deny any of his claims, and appeared to confirm at least one of them, saying the charter flight's manifest—a printed receipt given to pilots listing all passengers and crew on a flight—
"served as the travel document."

Areas farther inland across Mississippi and Alabama could experience these winds by Friday evening. Colors indicate the probability of sustained winds of at least 39 mph, with the highest probabilities concentrated along the storm's projected path.

I'm happy to publicly come forth as the JP-to-EN translator of My Journey to Her by Yūna Hirasawa. It's a great honor to be the first openly transgender & nonbinary native Japanese translator to be credited for the translation of an Eisner Award-winning manga. 😊 Please see my full statement below.
A statement from Mishima Kitan. Due to the word count restriction of the ALT text field, the ALT text is split into two parts. The second part is in the subsequent image in the thread of this post.

Statement Part 1:
"Hi, everyone. This is Mishima Kitan. Today, I'm happy to publicly come forth as the Japanese-to-English translator of My Journey to Her, an autobiographical transgender memoir, by Yūna Hirasawa. My Journey to Her won the Eisner Award for the category of Best Digital Comic in 2025. I'm very glad that this significant book has been released physically as well.

I've been using English as my second language for over thirty years now. It's a great honor to be the first openly transgender and nonbinary native Japanese translator to be credited for the translation of an Eisner Award-winning manga.

At the time of the digital release of this book in 2024, I had some personal concerns about being credited so I requested to be anonymous in the initially released edition. In March 2026, Haruko Hashimoto (the editor of the digital edition) had reached out to inform me that the book was getting a physical release and to ask if I'd like to be credited as the translator. Upon consideration, I replied, "Yes." I felt ready to be credited as the translator and I also felt that this present moment was a historically important timing to confirm the credit.

Having my own fair share of transphobic experiences and having to entirely cutting ties with my blood family in Japan at age 20 to live and transition on my own, this memoir was one of the most emotionally challenging book to translate. But, as with any work that I do, I gave my best effort."
