NWR Visit September- Part 2 Next, I also saw a bunch of terns during my visit. First, we have a lifer for me. Specifically, I was able to see my first Royal Tern. This Royal Tern was also banded.

Hey @skwinnicki.bsky.social May I please ask a birding question? Over the weekend, I was able to see a Royal Tern over the weekend. It was a lifer for me, and reviewing the photos, it has a band. I have identified the last two letters, but what do you think of the first letter (D, O, 0, or U)?

Backyard Birdwatching 21: This evening, I was able to get a picture of a Common Nighthawk Flying near my yard. It was a little dark outside, but I think the picture turned out decently.

A couple of weeks ago, I was able to viait my local bog. At the bog, I was able to find a Red-Shouldered Hawk's nest with at least young one. Here is a picture. On the way back, I also saw some Bald Eagles on a radio tower near my home.

Beach Birdwatching- June 2026 (Part 1) Last week, I went birdwatching at a beach an hour from me. I saw a lot of shorebirds, terns and gulls that were hanging out and nesting in the area. First, we have some Least Terns, and I was lucky that the Least Terns in an easy to see spot.

Warbler Preserve (Early June) In the first week of June, I visited my local warbler preserve. Here is what I saw. The Prothonotary Warbler nest progressed. The parents were bring in food and taking out fecal sacs. From reports, I believe the nest was successful as the young ones fledged already.
