This is why it was so very awkward when Kemi Badenoch made that Nazi an anti-racism and anti-extremism advisor. It made it far too clear what has been happening in this country for about ten years.

This is why Braverman had to go as Home Secretary, here. Not because she’s an especially egregious bullshit artist - other do the same stuff, with more panache - but because she’s so astonishingly bad at it. Deeply and obviously insulting, and painfully cringe.

You've called me racist this evening- albeit in a contorted way- but in doing so, you've lowered the tone of the debate with divisive and inflammatory language.
And absurdly, you're suggesting that I'm being racist against myself.
It's because of irresponsible language like yours that we in Reform need security.
The left can keep smearing us as racist for challenging the cosy consensus on mass migration but we will not be bullied into silence.

Legal 500 workers win full pay claim after strike action

Wednesday 30 September 2026
Share
Dozens of publishing staff at Legalease, the publishers of legal industry-bible The Legal 500, have won a dramatic victory in their industrial dispute over pay.

Staff who had been on strike for two and a half weeks accepted an offer that fully met their original pay claim of a £2000 pay increase for every worker. This was despite the company originally claiming it would not pay such an increase.

All the lads declared War On Fake News in 2016 to strike back at Faragery and Trumpism, then swiftly clocked that this would mean fighting against the Tories, the Sun, the Mail and the Times, and pivoted to all-out war against Twitter leftists and Russian Facebook. This will be much the same shit.

A British counter disinformation centre is long overdue, and very welcome.
For too long,
the approach of successive
governments to disinformation has been disjointed and without organisation, allowing states like Russia to amplify lies about this country, to sow division and stoke tensions. This new National Centre for Information Defence is an opportunity to finally take on this very serious threat."
The Foreign Affairs Committee recommended exactly this in March. We were extremely worried about what seemed to be a complacency of the British establishment at the disinformation being promoted from abroad, particularly from Russia. We thought the response from Whitehall had essentially been 'talk to the hand because the face ain't listening, but it seems we were wrong. I'm absolutely delighted.

The @newstatesman.bsky.social which, upholds the exclusionary anti-trans consensus in UK mainstream media is so afraid of disagreement it doesn’t allow trans people to publish at all. Complaining about this while trans people remain a proscribed group in the media is hypocrisy writ large.

BRITAIN IS AFRAID OF DISAGREEMENT
When was the last time you had a proper disagreement? And how did it make you feel afterwards? We're not talking about domestic arguments here, but debating the key political and social issues of our time. And according to new research by UCL and More In Common, shared exclusively with the New Statesman, it's getting harder to do.
As party conference season gets underway, a poll of 2,000 Brits found an esteem for the art of robust disagreement, with 63 per cent thinking it's important that any topic can be discussed, no matter how thorny. However, 58 per cent felt it was becoming harder to express disagreement, and 64 per cent noted political disagreements in Britain can easily become hostile or unpleasant, while 69 per cent admitted they were sometimes reluctant to share their views on contentious topics like immigration, gender identity and war in the Middle East. Only 6 per cent thought Britain actuallv disagrees well.
