**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights** Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight.
From meteorologist Eric Snitil

**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights**

"Heads up birders, I would not be surprised if the biggest bird migration night of the year happens over the next 2 nights. Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight. That is a lot, but the pattern could not be better for migratory birds. A massive area of high pressure will turn the low level winds from the northeast to the southwest across most of the US. The last time we had anything similar to this in the fall was early October last year when a record 1.25 billion birds were in flight. I doubt we get to that level, but I suspect the number will top 500 million especially Monday night which looks to be the bigger of the two nights. You can help by turning off those outdoor lights on big migration nights, and the next 2 nights is about as big as it gets."

And yes, that means you too New York City, San Francisco and LA, midwestern agriculture, Texas, DC — all the centers of power in the US — within our childen's lifetimes, if we do not phase out fossil fuels. It is that serious. This is what happens from the heat alone 👇
Second, 3 degrees Celsius, the 2100 outcome of the medium-emissions scenario, would also amount to catastrophic, civilization-threatening levels of warming. According to the most recent IPCC report, 3 degrees Celsius of heating would mean that, for around three months of the year, the entire East Coast of the United States-from Maine to the Midwest and the Great Plains- and half of California would be exposed to "hyperthermic conditions that pose a risk of mortality." Southern California, the Southwest, the Deep South, and
Florida would be this fatally hot nearly half the year.

Abracadabra was an ancient magical term. 🪄A new working paper poses: “[using computers], we show that the diminishing letter triangle generated by Greek AΒΡΑΚΑΔΑΒΡΑ yields an isopsephy value of 1480, which is alphanumerically equal to the name ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ—Christos.” www.cambridge.org/engage/coe/a...
This inscribed silver cross from the 7th century AD was found at the beginning of the 20th century in an early medieval grave under the gothic Cathedral of Lausanne (Vaud, Switzerland). Intended to ward off misfortune, it is engraved on both sides with the protective formula “ABRAX ABRACA”, which later became ABRACADABRA. It is thus a good illustration of how ancestral practices and beliefs also find their place within the new Christian religion, that spread on the Swiss Plateau in the 5th century AD. It is also one of the rare european object of that period with an inscription. Height: 9 cm. Scan by onsitu.
