Happy Meldrew Point Day, Jim Parsons! Today you are 19,537 days old and have reached your Meldrew Point - the age of Richard Wilson on the day One Foot In The Grave was first aired on Jan 4, 1990. I don’t believe it!

Idly imagining dozens of Athenians loudly reciting their think pieces in the agora and tearing each other to shreds because a Euripides play riffing on the Trojan cycle didn't please every single citizen simultaneously.

This year is the 30th anniversary of my production INDEPENDENCE DAY UK on BBC Radio 1. With the success of our DC and Marvel “Audio Movies”, 20th Century Fox asked if I’d make a “British version of the upcoming Roland Emmerich & Dean Devlin movie”, and R1 Controller Matthew Bannister was up for it.
The cover design of the original INDEPENDENCE DAY UK audio cassette release, basically the US movie poster artwork of a huge spaceship filling the sky over New York City. (Yes, it should ahve been London but we were not allowed to change the artwork)

Comic. [Person and person with white hat facing two boxes stacked with $80 price tag and sale tag on each box.] PERSON 1: They want $80 for this? I could make one myself for $10 in parts, an hour of work, a trip to the hardware store, another $30 in parts, another few hours of work, two more trips to the store for $20 more in parts, another hour of work to redo the first hour of work because I messed up, and $80 to buy this when the one I made breaks.

a cool thing about "cd's" is you push one button and it plays an entire album of music ad free and then (unless you request otherwise) it just stops and awaits further instruction. a very elegant system.
