I have spent the last few days watching rather than writing about #TheHormuzCrisis. There has been movement, but not enough to justify forcing events into my old scenario model. I think we are now in a different phase of the crisis, and I have been building an analysis model for what comes next.

Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.
It's a disaster, and it can all be traced to

and there it is -- Trump says that if the Supreme Court doesn't allow him to put his name on the Kennedy Center then it will close down for good
The Board of The Kennedy Center today agreed, almost unanimously, to close the Building for Safety reasons, and so that it can begin the process of Reconstruction. The closing will take place immediately, however, the Renovation and Reconstruction, which is a very large and complex job, cannot begin until such time as the D.C. Circuit rules on the Board’s approved name. If the ruling is a negative one, which it should not be, and is not overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, the Reconstruction and the Renovation of The Kennedy Center will not take place. The attorneys from the DOJ will ask for an expedited appeal. In the meantime, 17 Million Dollars, raised by President Trump, has been put into The Kennedy Center account to keep it afloat. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

quite something this paragraph.
After meeting with delegates from the two sides in South Florida, Kushner and Witkoff emerged with a peace plan that would have required Ukraine to accept nearly all of Russia’s demands: ceding territory, promising never to join NATO, and drastically shrinking its army. Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s press secretary, hailed the proposal as “a good plan for both Russia and Ukraine.” But, when the plan became public, it collapsed under a wave of outrage. Even Rubio reportedly derided it as “Russia’s wish list.”
Some observers suspect that Russia has effectively offered the Americans business deals in exchange for a favorable peace agreement. “This is the generally held view,” the former U.S. official in the region told me. A classified report produced by a European intelligence agency states that Trump and people around him have discussed several potential contracts in Russia. The report is not dated, but the European official who gave it to me said that the details were first discussed sometime after Trump invited Putin to Anchorage, in August, 2025. Twice that year, Kirill Dmitriev, the head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, was allowed to enter the U.S., where he talked about investment opportunities. “The privatization of American foreign policy is quite far along,” the official who gave me the report said. (A spokesman for Kushner denied that U.S. officials would profit from the deals under discussion.)
The document lists ten potential ventures, which it says appear to “have been originally designed by the Kremlin’s political and business elites.” They include reopening the Nord Stream 2 pipeline under American control, resuming ExxonMobil’s operations in Sakhalin, and drilling for oil in the Sea of Okhotsk. According to the report, there was discussion of unfreezing Russian assets that are held under American sanctions. The document mentions people who might participate, including Trump, Witkoff, and Kushner. It also names Richard Grenell, the former Presidential en…

Truly remarkable the extend Reform is bankrolled by Delo and Harborne, two mega-rich crypto-bros. *Before* they handed over combined £72m they were already behind more than 70 per cent of donations to the party this year.

Two crypto billionaires give Reform £72million in one weekend… to create a “level playing field”… as a “philanthropic gift to the country” Or.. back in the real world… yet more brazen corruption and greed with a strong whiff of treasonous criminality. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
Farage knew Putin was using crypto to evade sanctions - but invested in it anywayLate last year Mr Farage told a crypto conference "I am your champion". In October he told a blockchain conference that "people should hold crypto as part of their portfolio. At another event a month later he admitted
"I have got some crypto investments that are long-term".

Future. Tense.
Rayner made clear on Sunday … that any donations which don’t comply with the incoming legislation will have to be returned. So the important question is when exactly Delo and Harborne moved back to the U.K.

The answer to that … is predictably fuzzy. A Reform spokesperson has already said the party is “100% confident” the donations are legal and won’t have to be returned. Harborne had originally been based in Thailand but appears to have since changed his voter registration to Hampshire in June (h/t the Sunday Times). Delo wrote for the Telegraph, in April this year (i.e., after March), that he “will” move back to Britain so he can contribute more to Reform. But a Reform official insisted last night that the pair moved back to the U.K. before the March cutoff. Perhaps Deputy Leader Richard Tice can clarify in his round of morning broadcast interviews
