Originally, when Paul Pemberton approached me to play the Thirteenth Doctor, he asked if there were any script ideas I wanted to explore. I suggested, “What would happen if the Master trapped The Doctor in a reality where they got their happy ending.”When I was given the script for “Scapegrace”, I was in awe. Sylvia Lupien and Paul delivered a heart(s)breaking story of what could have been, leading to one of the best scenes I’ve ever had the honor to be a part of. Joshua Coy perfectly brings Sacha Dhawan’s Master to life with the energy, chaotic danger and pain that made him my favorite Master on Doctor Who (Him and Missy).The soundscape created by The Celestial Mechanic only adds to the pain of this goodbye. The world burning around them, mixed with Segun Akinola’s perfectly crafted “Reverse the Polarity” from “It Takes you Away.”Thank you. Thank you, Paul, Sylvia, Josh, and Emily.
