Enough of this. End the death penalty. The idea of a “humane” method of execution is a lie. It is deeply morally and ethically corrosive to everyone involved and serves no purpose, other than punishment and vindictiveness, that isn’t achieved by life imprisonment.

When I first read about the death penalty as a child, I thought it was barbaric. Still do. A state that gives itself the judicial power to kill debases itself and everyone it involves in that repulsive business.

A screenshot of a Wikipedia page. There is a sticky top bar encouraging users to donate to help support the organization. The text reads: "You rat bastard. You worm. I’ve carried you through nearly 30 years of hapless, baby-brained floundering — you ought to give me your entire salary, the least you could do is the $3 everyone else is paying. Mongrel". The user has the options: "Yes, I'll donate $2.75" or "No, I'm a weak and useless child, more poor than dirt and more dumb as well."

Cis people do not understand how much trans people's rights have regressed in just 5 years. 5 years ago, there were none of these restrictions. 19 states banned legal recognition 21 states have bathroom bans 8 states ban gender marker changes on DLs 25 ban gender affirming care for trans youth

You don't need minorities to cosign your violent tendencies towards minorities. The most effective popular campaigns have focused on giving people things they actively want rather than merely conceding to some sensible common ground that is predicated on giving up hope.

Voter discourse is the worst because it's all predicated on the assumption that the domain of control of the most powerful and violent people in the world is actually the responsibility of minority demographics who vote against more of the violence and are constantly ignored.

A newspaper clipping titled "Why A Transgendered Woman Calls for Psychiatry's Destruction", by Camille Moran. Body text:

My name is Camille. I am a born transgendered woman. When I was a child I said that I was a girl but the world called me a "faggot". Under the sky of pain called psychiatry I was locked away for many years and had the requisite tortures: the terror of electroshock, my bones broken, my body drugged and raped. I was not raised as a gender but as a bug of a child to be smashed.
I am nobody's victim. My body belongs to me & so does my holy brain. I am the ghost of the untapped conscience of shrinks, a lurking justice, a part of the gathering truth that is rising with a common voice out of the wake of their evil blue fire.
Transsexuals are born into the book of labels. We may be genetic but we are not genetically defective sub-human creatures. By the very nature of our difference, the independence of our alien spirituality, and the passion of the power of our will, we are a thread to the ruling delusions of the mental death profession.
No one has our permission to debate the validity of our existence, to define our reality, to dismiss our pain, and to name us. We name ourselves.
If you could look into the collective genetic memory of your humanity you would find us in the rivers of your dreams, for we were always here, we were here when Earth was a green spirit. We were a natural occurrence in a singing world. In times of absolute horror and destruction I wish for you all the transformational creativity of an utterly beautiful madness, and I offer you the blessing of a holy human freak.

I can’t put into words the fury this reporting fills me with. How more indignity must trans people be spoken be subjected to by our national broadcaster?
One patient, Sion Jewell, had been due to have surgery to remove their breasts and had packed to go to hospital, only to be told in a phone call 24 hours before it that it had been called off.
The 29-year-old from Anglesey, who is biologically female, had waited five years from their initial GP referrals and the surgery had been postponed twice already for mental health reasons.
The surgery would be irreversible and would mean, for example, that Jewell would not be able to breastfeed in future.
"When I found out I was heartbroken - I was distraught and completely disheartened," they said.

Privatisation of healthcare isn't the answer, but the lesson to learn from Britain is that retaining decentralised policymaking in public healthcare is important. The orchestrated denial of trans healthcare in Britain has been enabled significantly by centralised policymaking.

immigration controls are positively totalitarian: the "crime" every detained and deported immigrant is guilty of is, at one point in their life, crossing an imaginary, arbitrary line drawn by the state; borders criminalize your very existence in space, if you deviate one inch from your assigned spot

Discomfort is an essential part of growth and wouldn’t it be so embarrassing to be the exact same person thirty years from now, in a totally different world, because you were so averse to discomfort?

Once you start noticing how the incapacity to handle discomfort affects how people live their lives it's actually pretty shocking how it ruins pretty much every conceivable aspect of existence. Interpersonal relationships, romantic and platonic. Career and education opportunities. Your politics Your willingness to go anywhere. The kind of food you eat. The kind of art you expose yourself to and your ability to read it. It's never just one thing, it touches everything, and once you notice it it's like suddenly being able to see germs or something. Just this horrific catastrophe people look at you askance for screaming about. As I grow older and see what became of my friends and peers who could not learn to handle discomfort, the more I'm like. This is a genuine societal issue

From Wikipedia:

The purpose of a system is what it does (POSIWID) is a heuristic in systems thinking coined by the British management consultant Stafford Beer,[1] who stated that there is "no point in claiming that the purpose of a system is to do what it constantly fails to do".[2] It is used in systems theory, and is generally invoked to counter the notion that the purpose of a system can or should be read from the intentions of those who design, operate, or promote it. When a system's side effects or unintended consequences reveal that its behaviour is poorly understood, then the POSIWID perspective can balance political understandings of system behaviour with a more straightforwardly descriptive view.
