*looking at the worst post of my life* I must not post. Reactive posting is the mind-killer. Dunking is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face the Bad Take. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. When the TL refreshes there shall be nothing. Only I remain.

this is just a worm and people have gone to jail before for creating one. again: they are being allowed to break the law in order to puff their product, and sooner or later people will die because of that. there are *already laws* that cover all this.

Late night in Kyiv. Another drone threat has just ended. I cannot sleep. Ordered some books. The publisher whose warehouse was hit the other day suggested buying the books that survived. They have traces of fire or water damage. They called the initiative ‘The Fire Didn’t Finish Reading’.

You know who never makes this mistake? Scorsese. When the story is about gangsters in the 1970s and 80s, the music on the soundtrack, and in the bars that they stole from the rightful owners, is songs they liked when they were kids or adolescents, or stuff their parents might've played all the time.

Blocking didn't really work on Twitter. You couldn't stop ppl quote-tweeting you, you couldn't change who could reply on a post-by-post basis, including after publishing. You could only lock your account and marginalize yourself. It was cruel by design.

In continuing #FuckICE news, SPPS just announced an enrollment shortfall of *hundreds* of students, many of which are ELL. The social and economic fallout of Operation Metro Surge continues to hit St. Paul and the Twin Cities at a time where these costs are hardest to bear, to boot.
Each October 1st, SPPS compares the number of students attending our schools with the enrollment estimates used to develop our annual budget. This year, our preliminary enrollment count shows that we have several hundred fewer students than we anticipated and fewer students attending SPPS than last year.

We know there are many factors affecting families and communities across Saint Paul right now. Operation Metro Surge, changes in immigration, and fewer new families settling in our community are among the circumstances reflected in our enrollment. Many of the students who are no longer enrolled with us are English language learners.

Behind every enrollment number is a student, a family, a teacher and a school community. We deeply miss the students and families who are no longer in our classrooms. Their absence is felt in our schools and throughout our community.

Some of the escalations we're seeing, including the attack on Ilhan Omar's home (I will not pretend this act was "investigatory"), are desperate acts. But we must remember that desperate people can be very dangerous. A domestic abuse victim, for example, is in the most danger when trying to leave.

Exactly as predicted: Elder abuse. This is from Danny Trejo’s son, Gilbert Trejo. Not only did Ben Shapiro’s camp trick the elder Trejo about what the movie really was, he apparently signed a contract barring him from even putting out a statement about it.
For anyone seeing this shit with my dad...
He was booked on a film, it's not pro-ice, it's not overtly pro anything. His agent described it as "a complicated story about a complicated time, where everyone looks bad except you, the hardworking Mexican shop owner who just wants peace"
He jumped at the idea of playing a good guy.
About 2 weeks into shooting everyone, including us, found out Ben Shapiro was involved.
My 82 year old dad has never heard of Ben Shapiro, I had to explain to him who that is, and what kind of guy he is.
My dad contractually can't bad mouth him, the film, or walk away without being sued for breach of contract. He couldn't even release the statement he wanted to.
It's fucked up. He's handcuffed to this stupid project, and swaths of people have instantly turned their back on him without knowing any of the facts.
Ben Shapiro got Mexicans to abandon one of their heroes, got his own name to the top of google's searches, and made us look like angry fools lacking any nuance. He wins.

👁️ Delhi, India. Pandwala Khurd Community Centre. Civilians that attended a peaceful protest (including children) were kidnapped and beaten by authorities. 📸 from disha verma’s (@di_shawarma on X/Twitter) recount. Though the civilians have been released, international solidarity is needed 👇
disha verma @di_shawarma
...
This is the most horrific detention story you will hear today.
At 8 PM, this bus stopped at a community centre in Pandwalan Khurd (see photo).
Detainees fractured. Four minors present. Everyone barbarically beaten up. No lawyers allowed to enter.
This is how we got here.disha verma @di_shawarma • 36m
...
Peaceful protestors were detained from CP & taken to LIC—in a space sealed off from lawyers, journalists, crowds.
They were made to kneel down in a row.
Cops frisked them & physically snatched all their phones.
One by one, they deleted videos and photos, and kept their phones.
disha verma @di_shawarma • 36m
...
The detainees were told, time and again, that nothing will happen to them if they cooperated.
They did. And then they got brutalised. One by one, in those tiny bus compartments-everyone was hit.
An officer identified to lead this extrajudicial violence is named ARVIND KUMAR.disha verma @di_shawarma • 36m
• ••
They then profiled & selected some detainees and took them into buses used for convicts, with tiny compartments & no airflow.
@DelhiPolice then BEAT THEM UP, black & blue. It was described to us as "merciless thrashing" with only screams escaping that suffocating, jail-like bus.

Urgent call for international solidarity with protestors in India. Please amplify this as much as you can. Source: x.com/di_shawarma/...
disha verma @di_shawarma • 36m
• • •
Remember, no detainee had their phones on them. They had NO IDEA where they were.
They had been on the road for hours. Beaten up. Several fractures. Dizzy. Scared for their lives. This includes MINORS.
Shortly after, @DelhiPolice cut off electricity at the community centre.disha verma @di_shawarma • 36m
This bus circled around Kapashera and Najafgarh for an hour. They knew lawyers were waiting for them at Kapashera and Chhawla PS.
...
They touched Chhawla PS by 6.53 PM & fled promptly.
By 7.30 PM, they touch Pandwalan Gaon. By
8 PM, they were forced into a community centre there.disha verma @di_shawarma • 36m
• ••
Some brave detainees found a phone & called us with these updates. But they're scared that if seen with phones, they will be tortured again.
As of 9.15 PM, doctors are enroute Pandwalan Khurd. They will be delayed by closures in Central Delhi and other state forces. disha verma @di_shawarma • 36m
...
Here is what we need right now:
ALL EYES ON PANDWALA KHURD
COMMUNITY CENTRE.
A hostile crowd is now forming outside the centre. Cops are feral. Everyone is on high alert.
We need to ensure the detainees make it out
ALIVE, if not unscathed.
REPOST AND CIRCULATE THIS NOW.

It's World Homeless Day, and I'll just say: Homelessness isn't some great unsolvable mystery. People are homeless because they don't have homes. This suffering persists not for lack of solutions, but because enormous wealth and power are invested in maintaining the very structures that produce it.
