Notably, travel times also did not increase outside the congestion zone. This mirrors what we have seen in other aggregate congestion pricing impacts. For example, it was predicted that drivers would change their routes to avoid the zone, creating new congestion; this, too, did not happen.

One of my first ever projects in journalism (for the @thebrianlehrershow.bsky.social) was a big crowdsourced collection of "uncommon economic indicators" to track the slow recovery in the wake of the 2008 crash. Might be time for someone to dust that thing back off.

Spent the afternoon making a delicious smoky eggplant and squash dip. Blistered the eggplants on the grill, roasted the squash with garlic and peppers for an hour. Puréed with some lemon and tahini. Paprika. Topped with a homemade caramelized tomato compote. Lemme tell you — not worth the effort!
