To me, if you plan to vote, there's no reason to vote on "official" election day if your state has early voting. Get it out of the way and keep it moving.

I'm from Texas. Most of the "most like you" areas on my dialect map are Texas. Yet, it says I talk like someone from Oklahoma, and my most similar cities are in New Mexico & California! The Texhomex/Southwest dialect continuum is real! Funnily, my current home (Massachusetts) is least similar.
My dialect quiz results. On a map of the United States, the most similar areas are Texas, New Mexico, California, and a bit of Oklahoma. The least similar places are the Dakotas, New England, Minnesota, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Everywhere else is in between.

Cities most & least like you
Interpolated from the nearest survey responses.

Most similar:
1. Albuquerque, NM (55%)
2. San Francisco, CA (55%)
3. Los Angeles, CA (55%)

Least similar:
1. Boston, MA (51%)
2. Portland, ME (51%)
3. New Orleans, LA (52%)

What gave you away
Answers that point most strongly to Oklahoma

What do you call a drive-through liquor store? Beer barn.

What do you call the little gray creature (that looks like an insect but is actually a crustacean) that rolls up into a ball when you touch it?
Roly poly.

What word(s) do you use to address a group of two or more people?
y'all

pecan. [pıkan] ("pick Ahn").

Seen on Cape Cod today: A tourist from Québec, with a license plate that says ORLEANS, heading east on Route 6 toward Orleans. Yes, they did take exit 89 (old exit 12) for Orleans.
A white Lexus RX 350 traveling down Route 6 on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Its license plate says ORLEANS. The distance sign in miles, reads "Brewster 6, Orleans 8, Provincetown 35". A couple meters further is the milepost for Mile 82.8. The sky is cloudy. Trees line the road. There are physical barriers in the road's median along the double yellow lines.A white Lexus RX 350 traveling down Route 6 on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Its license plate says ORLEANS.

Today is Harvey Milkbone's Gotcha Day! Ten years we've been by each other's side! Age is catching up to him nowadays, but he's still sweet, happy, and a friend to all!
Harvey, a brown, black, and white mutt, on day one, smiling showing lower teeth, his eyes closed, during his forever-trip-home ten years ago. His head is on his paws which are on the center console.Harvey, today on day 3652, ten years later, much lighter in color now, lying down on the pattern rug and smiling with his tongue out.

Y'all, last grocery pickup, we ordered one bunch of bananas. They gave us one banana. This time, we ordered "5"; they gave us five bunches. I've made banana bread, bananas foster, fried bananas, banana fritters, smoothies, "nice cream". We still have two kilos left, now frozen. Any other ideas?

Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌍🌏 This image shows our Earth 54 years apart The bottom left corner represents an image taken in daytime by the crew of the Apollo 17 mission in 1972 The top right corner was taken this year showing Earth at nighttime taken by the crew of Artemis II #EarthDay #Artemis #Apollo

Taken by Artemis II crew, The right hand side corner of the image, the South Pole is towards the top and the North Pole is towards the bottom left. If you zoom in, you can see auroras visible at both poles. The bright glow towards bottom right is zodiacal light, a glow caused by sunlight scattering off dust. The Sun is behind Earth, which is what is causing the glow.

The left hand side corner image, popularly known as the “Blue Marble,” was captured as the Apollo 17 mission traveled towards the Moon in 1972. It is brighter because it shows Earth's daytime face, lit by sunlight. Both images show the continent of Africa. Artemis captured the northernmost part of it (oriented “upside down” in this view), while Apollo captured more of the central and western parts, as well as Madagascar.

Duane Kearns Puryear, holding his panel for the AIDS Memorial Quilt. It reads, in block letters: "My name is Duane Kearns Puryear. I was born on December 20, 1964. I was diagnosed with AIDS on September 7, 1987 at 4:45 PM. I was 22 old. Sometimes, it makes me very sad. I made this panel myself. If you are reading it, I am dead..."

There are several great resources to learn about Duane, his advocacy, his family, his panel, and the politics of memory and re-creation, especially this one by The Dallas Way: http://www.thedallasway.org/stories/written/2021/9/19/duane-puryears-and-the-quilt-panel
