The Malfoid thing doesn't really matter but it is very funny to see "actually my self-indulgent fanfic AU of a popular mass media property is vital political praxis that will change the world" coming from the right for once.

The Ford app just added AI. This is the greatest thing ever.
Ford app AI prompt, with the user-entered text "Write a 150-word story about Sailor Moon and Hatsune Miku kissing."Under the gentle glow of a moonlit Tokyo skyline, Usagi Tsukino stood atop a quiet rooftop terrace, the night breeze catching her golden twin tails. Beside her, Hatsune Miku adjusted her glowing teal ribbons, a soft electronic melody humming faintly from the synth display at her wrist. The vibrant city buzzed far below, but above the streets, the air was peaceful and still.
Turning toward each other, Usagi smiled warmly, her bright eyes reflecting the starlight. Miku stepped closer, her digital glow softly illuminating the space between them. Without a word, Usagi leaned in, and their lips met in a sweet, tender kiss that seemed to bridge magic and music into…one perfect harmony. As they pulled back, blushing beneath the moonlight, Miku shared a soft, cheerful smile.
Now that the magic and music are in harmony, is there anything I can help you with regarding your Mustang Mach-E

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).
A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

a screenshot from the upcoming remake of Tomb Raider 1. lara croft is looking at her phone in the middle of an ancient ruin, and it's showing her a generic crafting menu, and a png of saucepan of stew that apparently her phone lets her cook for "Damage resistance" if she has 6 potatoes

It's interesting to compare the "bluesky is dying" discourse to the equivalent discussion on tumblr, which can't really be described as discourse because there's universal agreement that eventually the wordpress guy is going to get sick of losing money and shut the site down and that's that.

Flying over Saturn - From Val Klavans (valklavans.bsky.social) - flic.kr/p/Ng1pvm
Have you ever wondered what Saturn looks like from above? On October 10, 2013 Cassini had the chance to fly over Saturn and take in this stunning view of the planet nestled within its rings, highlighting its mysterious hexagon and colorful cloud layers.

This composite is made of images that were taken by the Cassini spacecraft's camera system, the Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS) on October 10, 2013 and received on Earth October 11, 2013. The camera was pointing toward Saturn at approximately 900,000 miles (1,450,000 kilometers) away, and the images were taken using red, green, and blue filters.

I mean, it looks like a Rothko. It's a portrait of a night scene looking out across a river to some houses on the other side. The sky is dark blue, turning into a dark orange gradient about two thirds down where it meets the horizon. Under that, there's a dark river.

View of Earth from Saturn - From Goddard Space Flight Center - flic.kr/p/ffkErQ
In this rare image taken on July 19, 2013, the wide-angle camera on NASA's Cassini spacecraft has captured Saturn's rings and our planet Earth and its moon in the same frame. It is only one footprint in a mosaic of 33 footprints covering the entire Saturn ring system (including Saturn itself). At each footprint, images were taken in different spectral filters for a total of 323 images: some were taken for scientific purposes and some to produce a natural color mosaic. This is the only wide-angle footprint that has the Earth-moon system in it.

The dark side of Saturn, its bright limb, the main rings, the F ring, and the G and E rings are clearly seen; the limb of Saturn and the F ring are overexposed. The "breaks" in the brightness of Saturn's limb are due to the shadows of the rings on the globe of Saturn, preventing sunlight from shining through the atmosphere in those regions. The E and G rings have been brightened for better visibility.

Earth, which is 898 million miles (1.44 billion kilometers) away in this image, appears as a blue dot at center right; the moon can be seen as a fainter protrusion off its right side. An arrow indicates their location in the annotated version. (The two are clearly seen as separate objects in the accompanying narrow angle frame: PIA14949.) The other bright dots nearby are stars.

This is only the third time ever that Earth has been imaged from the outer solar system. The acquisition of this image, along with the accompanyin...

Cosmic horror is great because it just kinda invents itself. Spend a bit too long thinking about the sun and you realize it’s a radioactive death ball larger than your mind has capacity to comprehend, so inherently dangerous that looking directly at it will harm you, and it’s just sitting there.
