It looks like a solution looking for a problem? Removing the cycle box for this can hardly count as a cycling improvement. I’d much rather see the bus stops being improved as that’s where the actual issues are Arthur Street looks nice though 👍

Not sure if it’s a great idea to paint this across a mini roundabout. I think it can easily be misunderstood as a priority for anyone going straight? Looks a bit like the original “Cycle Superhighways” that were just a blue band with no protection

I see a lot of people complaining about the undoubtedly stressful conditions at present on London's roads. But I see few people complaining about motor vehicles. Yet in the last 24 hours three vulnerable road users have died after being hit by people driving motor vehicles.

World Car-Free Day is celebrated every year on 22nd September. For me, cycling is more than just a way to get around it gives me the freedom to explore, discover new places. So, why not leave the car behind, get on your bike, and discover where the road takes you? Every ride makes a difference!

* Breaking news * To give drivers more green-light time and space around Putney High Street, the now Tory run Wandsworth Council want to remove bus stops, move the ped xing on Putney Bridge, and narrow pavements! Papers to WBC Transport Ctte 24/9/26: democracy.wandsworth.gov.uk/ieListDocume...
2. Executive Summary
2.1. This report presents an update on the Putney High Street public realm and
junction improvement works. There are further improvements to ease
congestion along the Putney Bridge corridor subject to approval. The most
prominent being relocation of the pedestrian crossing on Putney Bridge to
allow Lower Richmond Road to regain the green time currently assigned to
pedestrians on the bridge when there is a demand. Other potential
improvements include carriageway widening outside TK Maxx, and trialling
Weiss Road as a one-way street. Lower Richmond Road bus stops
2.6. The Council has continuously lobbied TfL to relocate bus stop P by
approximately 40m (Westbound services, outside Kenilworth Court) and
relocate or remove bus stop Q (Eastbound services, opposite Kenilworth Court)
on a trial basis. Whilst TfL has agreed to trial the relocation of bus stop P and
found it to be effective, they have consistently rejected the Council’s request to
a trial at bus stop Q. To demonstrate local views regarding these two buses
stops on Lower Richmond Road, the Council will be consulting local residents
for their views for TfL’s further consideration.

Indeed CXX is what is written on the council’s plan. Maybe the contractor then took a guess with the 7, as the council refers to it as Quiet Cycle Route 7 (out of 13 originally proposed) democracy.wandsworth.gov.uk/documents/s1...

🧵 Why is national cycle route #NCN4 on a shared-use pavement along Chelsea Embankment in #RBKC? Well, #RBKC chose the shared-use pavement in Dec'1999 to prevent the nascent Greater London Authority GLA building a proper cycle lane on the forthcoming red-route. 1/n

The newly elected Wandsworth Council is removing protective cycling infrastructure as it tries to address Putney's congestion issues - we don't think this is the solution. Londoners are more likely to cycle instead of drive when they feel safe on the roads.

That’s also a reason why we need floating bus stops. It’s not just one overtake but many as buses (incl. stops) and cyclists are often equally fast. Each overtake carries a bit of risk

“higher than cyclist demand at the London Cable Car” is a very low bar 😅 But if you are in the area, you can ride the cable car for free until 10:30 (weekdays only), if you take your bike. A great opportunity for nice views of East London, not great for commuting
