Okay, air fryer roasties recipe: Cut up a potato into small pieces and put in a bowl or something. Add oil, thyme, powdered garlic, and salt. Measure with your heart. Shake to coat. Throw em in the air fryer at 190°c for 12-15 mins. Shake the drawer occasionally, to stop them sticking. Eat.

The might have learned to use Rowling's works for this due to the fanfic Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, written by Eliezer Yudkowsky, which, likewise, was an attempt to teach/propagandize her fanbase. It makes sense they would follow his example and try to use her fandom again.

Basically, any huge western media franchise is used like this. Make even comfort media horrible, a population gets broken down, maybe defeated. It's emotional abuse being weaponized on a political scale, taking the type of turmoil that usually happens in single households and making it national.

In the past, I had similar eye-opening experiences when I learned cumin is the predominant taste in taco seasoning, and oregano in pizza sauce/Italian seasoning. We don't do a good job learning the organoleptic stuff with foods, it's not taught systematically like shapes and colors are in school.

It's great to see tailoring accommodate such extreme movement today. This level of tailoring was a bit more common in the past, as you can see in old films featuring Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly, but many modern suits will lift off the wearer's neck even when they're just walking.

Couldn't lay down last night without stomach acid deciding to visit my sinuses. (This is not fun.) I wondered why my proton pump inhibitor wasn't fixing that--had I missed a dose? I took a 2nd. Then today I have food poisoning. No missed dose, just stomach trying to kill a bug by upping the acid.

In Beverly right now and found my dad’s sample book. Amac Glass Block was his shop. Most of the stuff he did was utilitarian. But occasionally he was able to exercise some creativity. These photos are late 80’s-90’s era.

Top photo is fairly large glass block basement window, no vents, built by my dad. He built in the garage then a small storefront and these windows got really heavy, and are if course very fragile, the bigger they are.
Bottom photo is dad on a scaffold to put a window in prob a bathroom on a second floor. Again, heavy to lift up and then lift up to install. He prided himself on prefect neat fits into old trad window spaces and his bricklayer skills allowed him to expertly replace brick work and sills to make everything look very nice.

Not sure where top window is but it was very large and block is more decorative, expensive. So probably a decor situation to add creative light with security and insulation. Bottom photo is a shower enclosure, curved !! In a very expensive huge house in Hinsdale. Dad used to say anyone can build a straight line but only a true craftsman can do a great curve or arch.

Vital to thoroughly wet the joints before putting a frontpoint mortar in an already built wall. Water is pulled out of the mortar and into the drier stone. The longer the water is retained in the mortar, the longer the chemical process of hydration is sustained, the better the result.

Water should move through the joints, not the stone. The worst deterioration often takes place not where water enters into or travels through, but where water leaves a wall, enabling frost-jacking or depositing cryptoflorescence. A good wall will dry through its joints, which can be repointed.

I half-suspect the mattress makers decided to go back to the "box spring and mattress" thing, but this time with memory foam, where they want you to get a firmer base AND then buy a topper. But I have no proof, just vibes based on how I used to be able to get one entire mattress for everything...

I don't know if this will help your specific case, but I have found that more recent memory foam mattresses (at least the cheaper ones I have gotten) have been firmer than advertised, and firmer than 15 years ago. Until I got a plush mattress topper, my back hurt with them. The plush topper helped.

Buildings seen while driving through the Arusha area in Tanzania

Multi-story building made of stacked concrete cylinders. There are small horizontal windows at the top of each cylinder. A tree in the foreground obstructs the view somewhat.

A couple of buildings in Arusha, Tanzania. The one on the left is 4-story with a hipped roof. The 4th floor is an open-air balcony, sort of. The rest of the facade is covered with signs. On the right is 5-story building made of concrete block, which appears to be unfinished. The roof has broad overhanging eaves, but there are no walls on the fifth floor. There are a couple of wrought iron balconies, but other sections are covered with tarps. It is common in this area for construction to go in fits and starts as money becomes available.

Behind a wall of corrugated silver metal is a two or three-story modern white building with a flat roof. The windows are of various sizes, some rectangular, some square, and create an interesting pattern on the facade. Again, trees obstruct some of the view.
