In my defense, some of this is getting caught up on Seanan McGuire's Patreon, so: short stories, not books (<10).
A screenshot from The Storygraph. Reading: 2026 Reading Goals
You have read 82 books this year.
Followed by a progress bar showing 82 on an overall goal of 120.

I don't want to post many more updates on this now that we're working with a lawyer to hopefully unravel it, but we have been told that this is going to be A PROCESS just to get the accounts unlocked, much less maybe recover some money. So I added a few other gift cards on here for practical shit.

I've been writing code for 20 years and the best AI can do for me is find the missing freaking commas. Which a good code editor can also do. I am deeply afraid all that all the knowledge I found by googling error messages will disappear forever. Or already has.

Like I said: the civil rights era never ended. You are still in it. The most important form of free speech, is the right to vote. Racists don't want Black people to vote. So they wrote down a plan to stack the Supreme Court with people that would make it harder for Black people to vote. It worked

I love making fun of my orange boy. But just as I'd be comfortable teasing a friend for being blond, I would also not assume her traits belong to every blond, everywhere. People (and cats) are individuals.
An orange tabby, zonked out on the floor. Paws drawn up in "bunny" pose. Cat tax.

when we mourn le guin, we mourn one of our greatest writers & thinkers. but we also mourn one of our all-time greatest haters
All you do is take all the sex out, and use little short words, and little dumb ideas, and don't be too scary, and be sure there's a happy ending. Right? Nothing to it. Write down. Right on.

If you do all that, you might even write Jonathan Livingston Seagull and make twenty billion dollars and have every adult in America reading your book.

But you won't have every kid in America reading your book. They will look at it, and they will see straight through it, with their clear, cold, beady little eyes, and they will put it down, and they will go away. Kids will devour vast amounts of garbage (and it is good for them) but they are not like adults: they have not yet learned to eat plastic.

You ever think about how the Mafia boss in The Rocketeer has higher ethical standards than everyone who attended the WHCD
The Mafia boss from 1991's cinematic masterpiece, The Rocketeer. He's yelling at a Nazi: "It matters to me. I may not make an honest buck, but I'm 100% American, and I don't work for no two-bit Nazi." Then he teams up with the FBI to fight Nazis and it's awesome.

Really late with the March wrap-up and I'm not good at tracking pages every day, which makes them end up all on the date I finished. But look at all the pretties! (Yeah, my 5 stars are all re-reads except for Skyla's. I tend to love things more the more times I read them.)
Storygraph Wrap-Up Graphic for user @kiaras for the month of March 2026. A blue box at the top contains the preceeding information, as well as a user icon with just the words 'The End' on a dark blue background. The next row of boxes read: 12 books, 4,085 pages, and 4.46 av. rating.

The row of boxes below that one has a heading on the left that reads: Highest Rated Reads, then the covers of 3 books, all rated 5 stars. Those covers belong to: A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows, with gold text on a red and black cover; Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik depicting the back of a woman with dark hair, wearing a leather jacket and carrying some sort of sci-fi gun at head height on a blue background; and Charon's Gold by Skyla Dawn Cameron, depicting a brunette in a tank top and carrying a knife against a brown and gray background.

Additional information includes average book length (381 pages), average time to finish (2 days), a 100% fiction pie chart to the left side of a genre breakdown in a bar chart. The bottom row of boxes displays an (inaccurate) page per day breakdown and a 100% digital pie chart. The Storygraph logo is located in the bottom right of the page.
