I just came from an appointment with my electrocardiologist and someone there was having a total meltdown because their doctor was late. When you are told the doctor is in the OR it means someone else needs them more at that moment. You really don't want to be the priority in these cases. Trust me.

It's my last night at Dragoncon. My program obligations ended yesterday, so I decided to wait in line today for a Stargate panel featuring Richard Dean Anderson, Claudia Black, Ben Browder, Teryl Rothery, and Michael Shanks. Very amusing. Enjoyed Stargate and Farscape, so it was nice to see them.

Spent the weekend at the On the Ocean music festival in Portland, ME. Guster was the main act (and host). Saw them three times including once with an orchestra. First time seeing a band play with a full orchestra and hopefully not the last. They worked really well together. Good time had by all.

Voyager 1 was the second spacecraft to study Saturn up close. Launched Sept. 5, 1977, Voyager 1’s closest approach to Saturn was on Nov. 12, 1980, at a range of about 78,000 miles (126,000 km). A few days earlier, on Nov. 3, 1980, Voyager 1 took these images of Saturn and two of its moons, Tethys (above) and Dione. The spacecraft was 8 million miles (13 million kilometers) away when it captured the images.

Situation was apparently more extensive than we thought. Our podcast also went rogue and is spreading our stories in audio form. We continue to investigate how it managed to escape our sandbox, but suspect that this modern RSS technology is exhibiting signs of awareness. The industry is concerned.
