It continues to be interesting to me just how many men, when presented with a clear and obvious answer to a test of morality and empathy, will nevertheless choose to "devil's advocate" themselves into a position of complete assholery

a year later, looking back, I think Charlie Kirk marks the high water mark of the right's cultural dominance for a little bit there they actually managed to force civil society as a whole to crack down on people saying mean shit about one of their own, and it turned out to be a massive overreach

The NYT accurately describing what Trump says as “lies” and not “falsehoods” or some other weasel word is a welcome change (10 years too late, but let’s focus on the positive): “Candidates up and down the ballot have embraced his lies about American elections.”

Something crucial to understand: Trump views commerce the way he views his businesses. His businesses got goods and labor, and then simply refused to pay for them. The "paying for them" is what he counts as commerce. In his mind, "not doing business" means getting things from people and not paying.

How cool is it that Trump can CONSISTENTLY shit all over the military, throw away dead troops like they are less than nothing to him, and it barely moves the needle. Can you imagine if a President Kamala Harris was like ‘Yeah, fuck them troops, look at my ballroom.’ AYFKM.

Trump continues to disperse disaster recovery funds based on how states vote, which for any other president or public official, in any other time, in any other country, in any other context would be a morally horrific scandal that would dominate headlines for months.

Write it on the blackboard a thousand times: they will have to demolish the ballroom, the arch and so forth. They will have to make a show of it. You will get the usual sons of bitches saying we don’t do that in this country. We do now. That is not emotion, it’s politics. To do less is dereliction.

Being philosophically embubbled is fine if your views align with the voting *majority.* But when your views are weird, eugenicist, generally evil and in the voting *minority,* it will prove fatal. This is the biggest problem Republicans have right now. They're losing and don't realize it.

Trump on Canada vs. Trump on North Korea
Canada has been “Ripping Off” the U.S.A. for decades. They have been charging our Farmers 400% Tariffs, and more. They have driven many wonderful U.S. companies out of business. For 10 years they wouldn’t certify Gulfstream Jets, until I got involved. They wanted 100% of the market for Gulfstream’s Canadian competitor. I deal with many countries, and Canada is easily the most difficult and unreasonable. They feel entitled, but they are not a State, and will be entitled no longer! President DJT

Based on my very good relationship with Kim Jong Un, of North Korea, I was not happy with the fact that the United States had, long ago, agreed to participate in Joint Military Exercises with South Korea. These exercises are not only costly, with much of these costs paid for by the United States of America (as usual!), but send a signal that is totally inappropriate and hostile, to a Country that, as long as Donald J. Trump has been President, has been unthreatening and respectful. Therefore, and based on the fact that it was too late to cancel, I instructed Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to substantially reduce the Joint Military Exercises! While somewhat unrelated (?), I recently asked the President of South Korea if they would like to join us in the Denuclearization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and they said, “No thanks!” Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.
