Here in the Campaign we see cycling as not just a cheap and easy way to get around, but a simple, enjoyable, and life-changing choice that benefits both individuals and society in powerful ways. Here’s our awesome volunteer Niels on enjoying cycling with his son, and why he volunteers with us 1/3

Show me the money! Why do running red lights and driving down a motorway the wrong way have lower fines than high-vis on a scooter?
Comment & Analysis: While road deaths and injury collisions involving motorists have spiked this year, there has been a classic moral panic against e-scooters -- and the winner is not road safety but the Government, which has been allowed to pretend that it is acting on road safety. I'm in a better position to say this than most, as I'm not exactly a fan of e-scooters.

FWIW I favour the Irish (STV) system, not least because it punishes “Millwall”* parties that can’t get down the line preferences (so a party with 20% 1st preferences but lots of 2nd/3rds will do better than a party with 20% 1st and no 2nd/3rds).

A mixed media #painting. One of Dublin's most loved buildings. "Sunlight Chambers", as seen from along the edge of Grattan Bridge's Hippocamp lamps, I painted because few sights in Ireland can instantly convert me back into childhood than seeing its ceramic friezes close up. #SpéirGhorm #ArtYear
Portrait format in black ink and watercolour on paper. Starting from the left edge is a view along the top of the green metal rail of Grattan bridge showing half a dozen copper lamps, on their Hippocampus stands of metal painted green, almost directly in line so there is little to no space between them as they recede. Beyond them is a building, four stories, on a corner, with side of 2 windows width directly facing viewer, and a short angled side of one window width at the left corner edge behind lamp-posts. Lowest story is mostly stone, in pale blues and lilacs, with arches above the windows and a decorative blue medallion between the two arches facing viewer. Above arches and rest of building is yellow with wide figurative bands of blue above and below the 2nd story. Windows are made up of little black panes - narrow, twinned, and arched on 3rd story, topped with triangles on 2nd story. Window arches, triangles, and side supporting columns are blue. Signed bottom right in black ink, Liam Daly

To be fair to Burnham, the 2011 referendum was on AV, which is not a system of proportional representation. (Indeed, it can produce outcomes that are less proportional than FPTP). I voted for it, but it wasn't "electoral reform" that was on the ballot in 2011 but a specific, non-proportional system.
