Thanks Daire Fitton and Cork Beo for reporting news of a new playground at Tinker's Cross Park in Mayfield. This is one of three new playgrounds for the area. Play equipment has been purchased and a location is being chosen for another at Silversprings — as well as an expanded park in Glanmire.

I cannot emphasise enough how this "crisis in government" is not about any budget or policy decisions. It's about who gets to post first on Facebook about the funding announcement to redo the toilets in a dressing room — to make out your local TD had a hand in it. Peak Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael.

However I have reached a decision that I have hot taken lightly. I am a man of strong faith and try my best to be a person of character and principle therefore 1 feel it would be wrong to participate in the upcoming fixtures against Israel.

I've been in touch with officials about footpath repairs at Madden's Buildings, and especially the limestone kerbs. I've been told all salvageable kerbs will now be reinstalled. Unfortunately, some broke apart during excavation. The remainder will be reinstated part of the works, which are ongoing.

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.

Over the summer, Cork City Council has been working on new playgrounds planned for the North East ward. The first to open will be at Tinker's Cross Park in Mayfield. The temporary fencing is almost ready to be taken down, when children will be able to experience it — maybe as soon as this weekend!

A resident at St Luke's Cross pointed this one out to me in Henchy's 🍻 — I'd asked officials to widen this turning radius after the slip road was retired, but motorists are (understandably) still following the old road linings. Confirmed with officials today these will be updated this week.

Last year, my husband and I were shouted at with racist remarks by a teenager. And now this man was racially attacked by another teenager. There is a serious racism problem spreading among teens, partly due to social media. Ireland seriously needs to address this before it gets out of hand.
