Klobuchar has Schmitt dead to rights: "The game in fact was in Maryland. For a senator to have false information & imply, based on confusion about name of a team, that you were in another city & somehow involved that day in what was happening in Georgia & call you a 'dirtbag' deserves an apology"

I have said if a bunch, the removal of the 3rd garage is not real. It was a fake concession that was really just a timeline shift to building it later in the name of demand. They still have the option to build it and the other 2 will sell out and it’s 1 more lane bro mentality.

Warren: "This has been their argument every time -- they cut taxes and say, 'Ultimately it's really going to pay off for you.' What's happened every time? The academics study it very carefully and say, 'What really happened is the richest people got richer and everybody else got left behind.'"

Huge! The truck worked but glad they are coming back in brick and mortar. I had previously pegged them coming back in Nesso plaza. This is quite a big spot, interested to see how they use it.

Excellent news. Glad to see what so many of us predicted borne out by actual data. (Yes, this is a "we told you so" post. Hopefully one day people will stop listening to the cranks who think the world will end if we even slightly reduce the amount of cars in the city.)

Hyper-fast acceleration is dangerous as well as pointless. As I wrote in 2024, the 0-to-60 metric is outdated and needs to die. No driver on a public road needs to go from 0 to 60 mph in under 8 seconds. Even the slowest car on the market is more than quick enough.

How fast can a car go from 0 to 60? It really doesn't matter
The auto industry has pushed this metric for decades. But cars—especially EVs—are so fast that comparing the decimals is pointless and dangerous.

The D.C. Council will vote this fall on whether to allow driverless cars to operate in the city. But DDOT has exempted AV companies from public records law, meaning all crash data from its testing program is withheld. My latest for @washsunmetro.bsky.social: www.washingtonsun.com/metro/waymo-...

Autonomous vehicle companies — which could be permitted to operate in the District this fall — enjoy a blanket exemption from public records law.

Tonight was one of those urban living gems. Dreary day and nothing inspiring in the fridge to cook. Pick up boys from aftercare, walk a couple blocks to the D20 and pop into Toki Underground for some ramen, hop back on the D20 home.

Lastekodu's lesson isn’t that every city needs the same cycle tracks or bike racks. It’s that public space should be designed for what a city wants more of. Tallinn asked a simple question—what should this street be for?—and answered with a place that is safer, greener and more social for everyone.🔚
