Don’t believe people who tell you ai can be liberatory or any other misappropriation of movement talk or justice frameworks. Find some people who are preparing to rebuild and cast your lot with them. Then read a bit more. Just keep your wits about you because they are trying to run game.

the framing of the issue (women/pantyhose and men/cigarettes) is just evidence of a wistful nostalgia for "better times" in which women could be freely sexually harassed without repercussion and men could do manly masculine things without being told no. the whistle is so high pitch.

I have done a lot of productive things over the past few weeks (so much writing), but I am most proud of what I did today: I unloaded my 55lb wheelchair on my own. Be afraid, for I've almost regained total independence and the menace I am will not be contained (since I can't load myself yet).

as an ambulatory wheelchair user and faculty member, the dissonance between the hard push for Title II digital compliance and the reality of navigating campus spaces is sometimes difficult to manage. especially when people complain "why do we need to do this work for just a few people?"

I will never choose to affiliate with @ncte.org, given the absolutely disgraceful way they have chosen to dissolve CCCC, a 70+ year organization central to the discipline of writing and literacy studies. I am so disappointed in the NCTE leadership. May they come to view their actions with horror.

I regret not buying a house with a basement. I was told tornadoes don't happen here; they go around. Then last year (6 months after moving here) a tornado went through the city. I didn't think my storm anxiety could get worse. Anyway, I just got a quote for an above ground shelter for my garage...

Last week, I attended a workshop on creating a uni-wide GAI literacy requirement (I'm the squeaky wheel). One of the participants brought up ethics, including environmental consequences for the Colorado River. A man behind me started heckling; he was sick of hearing about the Colorado River.

I don't know. I've been teaching since 2006 and I have never seen someone pretend to be disabled to get accommodations. I mean that literally: I cannot think of a single instance where someone was trying to game the system.
