Opportunity’s Dr Kayla Kingdon-Bebb was asked by someone in the audience why the party didn’t consider itself a “left” party, when the audience member considered that is where its policies lay.

She said the origins of the party’s Citizen’s Income, a universal basic income, came from neoliberal economic theory - “so it’s actually a right-wing theory”.
