#HorrorWritersChat I have already done this with DREADFUL DISSONANCE. Blasphemous musical instruments pitch so high most people can't hear the music but they feel it in their solar plexus. The instruments feel warm to the touch and you have to put that flute in your mouth! Ew!

It absolutely does. Mostly it's to get me in the mood of the scene I'm writing, e.g. I had Behemoth's version of A Forest on a loop for The Woodcutter, Wardruna's Kvervandi for a sacrifice scene in Reborn, etc. It totally makes you feel the emotion of the moment. #HorrorWritersChat

My punk rock x folk horror novel starred an old punk musician, but his playlist was indie folk-girls and that built my writing playlist because it helped solidify the mood of the book. But I constantly reference songs and artists, and even wrote a song for that novel. #HorrorWriteresChat
