A new Handbook of Evolutionary Psychology has just been published, in which it is claimed that the human species is polytypic: not only is race biologically meaningful but the races are distinct enough to be considered subspecies. Published by Elgar. In 2026.
Chapters in Part III take stock of the current state of evolutionary psychology, by casting wider attention to other social and behavioral sciences and assessing the field's influence on them. In Chapter 11 ('Evolutionary psychology and anthropology'), Heiner Rindermann identifies three major forces that oppose scientific anthropology: Religion, National Socialism ('Nazism'), and woke leftist ideology. Ironically, in this sense, woke left ideologues, who include most anthropologists themselves, geneticists, and other university academics, share much in common with the Nazis in their common opposition to scientific anthropology.
Rindermann's extensive review of the literature leaves no doubt that humans are genetically polytypic and contain different biological races or 'subspecies' At the end of the chapter, Rindermann delivers devastating rebuttals to all potential arguments against the notion of races/subspecies among humans.

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

out it goes: my long post about Rachel Hope Cleves's claim that Tillie Walden plagiarised her book. It's long because Cleves's claim is much, much more bizarre than it looked on first reading. I'm not going to bury the lede here. Cleves's claim does not hold up. buttondown.com/thene/archiv...
stick a pin in this metaphor

…because these covers are a microcosm of the entire conflict; Walden's book is mostly built on writing and other objects left by Sylvia Drake, Charity Bryant, and others. Her work includes many elements from these records that Cleves does not refer to in her book, and many of her interpretations of those records are different from Cleves's interpretations, often intentionally so. In addition to her historical basis, Walden's book includes fictional dialogue and story elements that are original to her work, some of which are inspired by Walden's own life.

This is a very worrying story. Ecuadorian fishermen are being attacked and killed, and the perpetrators seem to be either the U.S. military engaged in clandestine operations or an American mercenary company working for Bukele or another Central American country.
Far out in the Pacific Ocean, Ecuadorean fishermen have been attacked by unidentified “gringos” using drones, survivors say, spurring a mystery over whether the American military, the armed forces of another country or private military contractors were behind the strikes.

One fishing boat has been lost at sea since January, the U.N. says, with eight people still missing and presumed dead. The survivors of two other vessels said they came under attack in March by English-speaking assailants wearing matching uniforms with American flag patches, but without any clear insignia to link them to an official government force.

Some of the surviving fishermen said they had been hauled out of the water, questioned and then handed over to El Salvador’s navy before being released. The Pentagon has denied involvement, as has the U.S. Coast Guard.

Survivors have also said that a plane followed and seemingly surveilled them before the strikes.

The New York Times analyzed flight data and found that a maritime patrol plane — based out of a military base in El Salvador — flew in the direction of all three boats in the days before they were attacked. The pilots onboard spoke English with American accents, according to air traffic control communication recordings.

if you just went by the headline you might think the author was rehabilitating an egomaniacal white supremacist for no reason other than shock value. not so! it's actually to rewrite the "dems should moderate on wealth taxes and trans rights" article for the 1000th time
The question is what to do with that analysis. Much of the American left seeks to counter Trump with a form of progressive populism that labels billionaires and oligarchs enemies of the people. Hanania’s theory of populism implies that this won’t actually win back the working class. That’s because “Oligarchy is the problem” is itself an elite belief, as the use of a word like oligarchy suggests. Blaming billionaire wealth-hoarding for America’s ills would poll very well among the nation’s anthropology departments. If Trump voters hated the super-rich, however, they probably wouldn’t have voted for Trump.
For his part, Hanania recommends that Democrats instead abandon some of the cultural positions that make them seem out of touch to many Americans. “The trans issue in particular riles up idiots like practically nothing else, and I say this as someone in no way sympathetic to gender theory,” he recently wrote on Substack. The idea is to strategically moderate on certain cultural issues in order to become more palatable to mistrustful constituencies. But there is no sign that Hanania intends to take his own advice.

A key point in Fahrenheit 451 is that books were banned because they made people depressed and uncomfortable. The novel's protagonist, Montag, is taken into custody after he reads a poem that makes a woman cry because she realizes the emptiness of her life.

The shooting happened on the level above the ballroom where the White House Correspondents Association dinner was.
I don't think people hearing about this -- or even those of us in the room -- realized how far from the president, VP and other guests this incident was. It was on another floor, up some stairs and several sets of security away.
Because the Washington Hilton's hotel and other public spaces were open for other functions, the entire building wasn't secured by the Secret Service, just the specific areas where the WHCA dinner was held, law enforcement officials told @CBSNews

I really think it’s important to underline that there was apparently no security breach. The gunman was confronted and stopped where he should have been according to the design—at the magnetometer perimeter. What this piece argues for is an *expansion* of the security perimeter in time and space.

okay so first of all the underlying case is A Lot, it was filed in august 2025 and was already on doc 112 in december. here’s the complaint. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
Plaintiff Kettering Adventist Healthcare d/b/a Kettering Health Network ("Kettering"), for
its Complaint against Defendants Sandra Collier ("Collier") and Defendant Mary T. Scott, Esq.
("Scott") states as follows:
INTRODUCTION
This action involves a deliberate scheme by Kettering's former System Director of
the Innovation, Research, and Grants Department to steal confidential, proprietary, and trade secret
information, not only from Kettering, but from its clinical trial sponsors. In orchestrating this
scheme carried out over the course of several months, Collier also unlawfully stole protected health
information ("PHI") of Kettering's patients. After Kettering terminated Collier's employment, she
and her counsel attempted to unlawfully extort Kettering for millions of dollars.
Case: 3:25-cv-00273-WHR-CHG Doc #: 1 Filed: 08/13/25 Page: 2 of 57 PAGEID #: 2
2. Were Collier's misappropriation and her and Scott's extortion attempt not
malicious enough, much of the information Collier stole occurred after Kettering terminated her
employment. Although Collier's misappropriation began in April 2025, two weeks after she was
hired, it was only after Kettering terminated her employment that Collier unlawfully accessed
Kettering's email system to forward confidential, proprietary, and trade secret information to a third party. Notably, Collier's LinkedIn page also states that Collier has her own consulting
business, The Collier Consortium, through which she provides, among other things, clinical data
review, clinical project management, development and implementation of clinical specialty project
plans, feasibility research, and development of clinical stud-related trackers and monitoring tools.
In total, Collier stole at least 311 emails and attachments, most containing confidential, proprietary,
and trade secret information, including information regarding Kettering's patients, operations,
finances, strategy, personnel matters, relationships with sponsors and consultants, an…
