it’s what the People WANT
3 panel comic

Panel 1 is titled “AI Bros:”
An Ai Bro is standing in front of a TV wearing his default expression (SMUG)

Behind him on the TV is the axe scene from American Psycho where Patrick Bateman is wearing the transparent raincoat and standing next to his ridiculous stereo. Except in this image Christian Bale has been replaced by the AI Bro.

AI bro annoyingly says “People want to put themselves in movies”

Panel 2 and 3 are titled “People:”

Panel 2:
A Blue Guy holds his phone up to a Yellow Guy and says “Hey! I’ve got a little video from that party”

Panel 3:
Yellow Guy sees himself on the phone screen and almost cringes himself into a singularity. He is blushing and squeals “Ohh my Goddd. My FACE and VOICE”

imagine if, in addition to breaking into the zoo and hunting an animal, altered states guy also had diarrhea in the sensory deprivation tank and had to pay Harvard medical school for the damage
Diarrhea in sensory deprivation tank
Title pretty much sums it up. I paid for a sensory deprivation tank experience not realizing I had contracted norovirus and was about to became symptomatic. Initially I was having a lot of weird hallucination type sensations where I chalked up to the experience (later turned out I had a 103 F fever) and somewhat fell asleep. I woke up to an awful odor and demanded to be let out of the tank and it turned out I had diarrhea'd in it. This alone was a traumatizing experience but now the facility is trying to charge me $8,000 to replace the tank as they do not feel they can safely disinfect this. I don't recall signing anything with some sort of "diarrhea clause", am I actually liable here?

People are always saying they want superhero movies to be exactly like the comics but the comics they mean never include "Reqiuem for a Hot Rod," which means I simply cannot get on board.
Splash panel for "Requiem for a Hot Rod" in which a hot-rod hearse knocks cars off the road while its driver says "Offa the highway ya creeps! Here comes Death on Wheels -- Coffin Crowley, king of the road!"

A couple (who were wearing masks) in the grocery store thanked me for being covid conscious. After a bit of small talk it quickly became apparent that we have a lot in common, so we exchanged info and decided to stay in touch. Turns out wearing a mask isn’t isolating at all! 🥹❤️

Got a friend in the icu with a brain tumor and her poor family had to apologize for not posting photos in her current state because people keep asking! No one should have to worry that, at their most physically helpless, their photos will be circulated and posted. It’s dehumanizing, not caring.

A lot of people are not well right now: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This is an excellent time to de-escalate conflicts and to lean into patience. This is true in our personal lives and also (maybe especially) online when it's overwhelmingly strangers crashing into each other.

one of the paradoxes of a chronic illness is that the harder you work to seem okay to make people feel comfortable with your diagnosis, the less they can actually imagine that you’re ever not (and therefore disbelieves your experience of said illness)

My hometown created an entire building to house artists downtown in order to bring more art into the city. Every apartment had artists, rent was under $400 for a 1,000 square foot downtown apartment. And it worked and continues to work. Murals started going up everywhere, events, etc.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

Loved designing these books! I’m particularly happy with the DUTCH logo, where I combined five previous books titles in to one harmonious logo. And the slight symbolism of the BLOOD SQUAD SEVEN logo repeated in different ways for each volume, culminating in a perfect circle, was very satisfying.

Looking at the illustrations Alice and Martin Provensen did for the Iliad and the Odyssey in 1956 and taking pleasure in noting how diverse they made that world. Everyone bitching about the new movie’s casting is more racist than a children’s book publicist in *1956*
Three Ancient Greek warriors painted in a distinctive mid century modern style, with lots of texture and an earthy color palette. They stand in a row, looking toward the right. One is pale skinned, one has reddish brown skin, and the third has medium brown skin. Three painted Ancient Greek figures standing in front of a map. One, a dark skinned woman with red hair in what looks like short twists, plays a lyre. Behind her is a pale skinned woman with dark hair looking emotional. Behind her is a dark skinned man with blonde hair and a beard.
