Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

Hookland should twin with Cleveleys in Lancashire which has this art from the local council. There's a stone maze too and they gave every school child a book about the petrified forest that was washed away by the sea, presumably so they would have dreams of drowning.

On the adult social care issue in England (or UK but I only experience it in England). Why is it so expensive? Because formerly it was provided by the council directly employing staff, who could join the trade union easily. A private company now receives contracts.
