NHS cancelling surgeries for adults even after they’ve already paid for travel + accommodation and waited years to get there. Some were about to be wheeled into theatre! Every manager responsible for this decision must be sacked and every patient paid compensation.

Criminal. btw the reason no trans people were there to challenge these jerks is that we were excluded. There was a list of reserved seats, all of which went to the bigots. And the court was NOT packed. Despite empty seats, there, a trans woman and I were directed to the almost empty overflow room.

If there are three things that trans people need to remember if they’re using toilets in pubs, restaurants etc., it is these:
Asking about sex
13.161 Personal data includes information about a person's sex which may also be protected under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights
(ECHR). In particular, it is important to be aware that some people, including some trans or gender non-conforming people, may wish to keep such information private as far as possible and may find it distressing to be asked about their sex.
13.162
To comply with Article 8 of the ECHR, a service provider must be able to objectively justify asking an individual about their sex. A request for information about sex should only be made where it is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim. Furthermore, a request for information about sex which is not a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim could also amount to unlawful indirect gender reassignment discrimination.13.170
3.170 It is unlikely to be either practical or appropriate to approach any particular dividual to make enquiries about their sex in relation to facilities, such as toilets, which are incidental to the primary service.

The subtext running through the entirety of the campaign to remove trans people's rights is that trans women, in particular, pose a threat to cis women's safety (and/or dignity). There is no data to back up this insinuation. The hate groups know this perfectly well. But they persist.

How I feel about these online age verification laws
“For the Better, Right?," also known as the Anakin and Padme 4-Panel and Clueless Padme, is an exploitable image macro format based on screenshots from the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. The meme format is arranged in a common four-panel layout, with the setup, response and punchline in the following panels. Differing from other four-panel memes, the punchline and setup are combined in the first panel, with the other panels being auxiliary.

Top left panel has Anakin saying “Minors are online too much.”

Top right panel has Padme smiling and saying, “So you're going to provide offline third places and activities for minors, right?”

Bottom left panel has Anakin looking on knowingly

Bottom right panel has Padme staring seriously and soberly with the caption, “You’re going to provide offline third places and activities for minors, right?”

What Féile an Phobail row has shown is that women’s rights are at risk — just not from a tiny trans minority
Belfast Telegraph27 Jul 2026ALLISON MORRIS
I’ve thought long and hard about commenting on the controversy over the cancellation of the Women’s Rights Network (WRN) event at Féile an Phobail — not because I don’t have an opinion, but because it is a debate that attracts the most toxic elements.

WRN NI was not a group I was familiar with beforehand, so I did some research.

No speakers were listed in the Féile programme for the planned event, which in itself is odd as there are for almost every other of the 90-plus debates and discussions.

The group has since announced who its speakers were to be in a series of online posts.

My research took me down quite the rabbit hole — a who’s who of the anti-trans movement not just on this island but Europe-wide.

I don’t pretend to understand their motivation.

In fact, I remain baffled as to why in one of the most dangerous places for women to live in Europe, the group — which has spoken out about femicide before — is obsessing about a small minority instead of the actual dangers we face from domestic violence and femicide.

I have worked for decades covering violence against women and girls in all the distressing forms that takes.

I know the names of every woman and child murdered in Northern Ireland in the last 10 years without even having to look them up.

Not a single one was caused by a trans woman — I checked the list twice just to be sure.

None of them were murdered in a public toilet either, which having looked at the online posts of WRN and their many affiliates, is apparently the most dangerous place on earth for women, with trans predators lurking in every cubicle.

Apart from the absurdity of much of the group’s argument regarding the perceived dangers of trans women, the claim that women are being silenced by Féile is the most disingenuous of them all.

Things Queer Culture Teaches That Straight Culture Doesn't:
• You don't have to get married if you don't want to.
• You don't have to have kids if you don't want to.
• It's nobody's job to flirt with you or be flirted with. If you're into someone, do the work and tell them.
• People will judge you and reject you without knowing you.
This isn't your fault. You're not the broken one.
• Your clothing and hair and other style choices are to make
YOU feel good first and foremost.
• Signaling to your people is the secondary job of hair and clothes. But don't dress for them. Be you, they'll see it.
• Anyone who judges you badly for your hair and clothes is not your people and can fuck off.
• Physical affection in public is an act of deliberate courage.
• Family is a matter of choice. Loyalty is a two-way street.
• Mental health is important and it's hard. Anxiety and depression are natural reactions to the world.
• Sensitivity isn't weakness. It just means you pay attention.
• People who think "sex" only means a penis in a vagina deserve pity. (They don't deserve better sex, just pity.)
• Everyone who's interesting reinvented themselves after their world fell apart. Just like you did.
• Community is a safety net from an unfair world. Let it catch you when you need it. Catch others when you can.
• Don't live your life for anyone else's happiness. Live for your own, and share it.

Cis people need to pay attention to the way they communicate this. They freely admit that after all of their research, they came up with zero evidence that HRT was harmful. Then they banned it anyway, claiming their inability to find a reason is a reason in of itself.
It found there was not enough good quality evidence to conclude overall whether the drugs benefited young people or harmed them, so NHS England will not issue new prescriptions while it continues to consider responses from advocacy groups and healthcare professionals.
