There’s a bizarre contrarianism in the Democratic Party, where, if an idea catches on with the base it’s treated as presumptively unreasonable forever. Not even an effort to *appear* to be supportive. Politicians used to pander!

Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences

Three votes for the proposition that the Fourteenth Amendment does not mean exactly what it says. Three votes to strip citizenship from people to whom the framers guaranteed it. Three separate opinions explaining why. Three fucking votes. Broken institution, not worth saving.

The idea that race and partisanship would be too entangled to identify voting restrictions as racist would have seemed absurd to the authors of the 15th Amendment, given that it was itself adopted at a time of racist partisan disenfranchisement www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
The Fifteenth Amendment, in other words, was never not partisan. If it had not been intended to prevent politically motivated racist disenfranchisement, it would have done nothing at all. The entire purpose was to ensure that neither party—not Democrats in the 19th century nor Republicans in the 21st—could ignore Black voters. Attacking or defending Black rights is not inherently partisan, except when the parties themselves make it so, and the point of inalienable rights is that politicians should not be able to take the shortcut of disenfranchising voters to whom they do not care to appeal.

The whole premise of this "ballroom" is that you've got the nation's most secure military command center in the basement, and a top-security military drone installation on the roof, and between the two is an impossible-to-secure quasi-public space for foreign spies to have dance parties.

We call these things hallucinations at our peril. The LLM isn't really hallucinating, it simply doesn't know anything. It's always trying to say what it calculates the next thing that should be said is. But that metric for "should be said" has no relationship to reality, only to what HAS been said

On the agenda that day: the future of nuclear energy in the Trump era. The meeting was convened by 31-year-old lawyer Seth Cohen. Just five years out of law school, Cohen brought no significant experience in nuclear law or policy; he had just entered government through Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency team.

As Cohen led the group through a technical conversation about licensing nuclear reactor designs, he repeatedly downplayed health and safety concerns. When staff brought up the topic of radiation exposure from nuclear test sites, Cohen broke in.

“They are testing in Utah. … I don’t know, like 70 people live there,” he said.

HUGE scandal if true. Laura Loomer got Marco Rubio to throw two Iranian women with green cards in ICE jail to be stripped of status and deported, claiming they were related to Qasem Soleimani. Official documents provided to @dropsitenews.com appear to show they are NOT related; they're innocent.

A resident named Walter calmly took the mic and recounted an April 9, 1945 newspaper clipping about the liberation of the Ohrdruf concentration camp... "And we don't know exactly how ICE will use this warehouse. But we know enough." www.welcometohellworld.com/a-surprise-z...
“The U.S. Army brought the leading citizens of Ohrdruf to tour the facility, which turned out to be part of the Buchenwald network of concentration camps. A U.S Army colonel told the German civilians who viewed the scenes that they were to blame. One of the Germans replied that what happened in the camp was 'done by a few people,’ and ‘you cannot blame us all.’ And the American, who could have been any one of our grandfathers, said 'This was done by those that the German people chose to lead them, and all are responsible.'"

"The morning after the tour, the Mayor of Ohrdruf killed himself. And maybe he did not know the full extent of the outrages that were committed in his community, but he knew enough. And we don't know exactly how ICE will use this warehouse. But we know enough. I ask you to consider what the Mayor of Ordruf might have thought before he died. Maybe he felt like a victim. He might have thought 'How is this my fault? I have no jurisdiction over this.' Maybe he would have said, 'This site was not subject to local zoning, what could I do?' But I think, when he reflected on the suffering that occurred at this camp, just outside of town, that those words would have sounded hollow even to him. Because in his heart he knew, as we do, that we are all responsible for what happens in our community.”

🚨HOLY CRAP. The Trump admin just took a SLEDGEHAMMER to due process, largely eliminating the Board of Immigration Appeals process and MANDATING DISMISSAL of ALL appeals (which cost $1,000 thanks to OBBBA) filed after tomorrow unless a majority of the BIA votes to hear the case.
Thus, rather than require such adjudications, the Department is changing its regulations to provide the Board more flexibility in reviewing appeals. Instead, for appeals taken from decisions issued after this IF becomes effective, as explained in
Section IV.A of this preamble, the default will be summary dismissal unless a majority of current Board members vote to consider the appeal on the merits. And such dismissals
will occur quickly—within 15 days of filing the appeal—allowing aliens to seek Federal court review expeditiously, rather than potentially waiting for years for a Board decision that in the vast majority of cases would affirm the underlying Immigration Judge
decision.
