Race science is settled quackery. It's been refuted, the empirical grounds for that "discipline" have been thoroughly trodden. Racists will ask you to debate them forever, all the science in the world doesn't matter because what they really want is attention and domination.

It’s not radical to believe you should be able to afford groceries, see a doctor, breathe clean air, and drink clean water. There’s nothing more American than fighting for a government of, by, and for the people.

Definitely a misnomer everyone should be trying to get a ring and ya it seems quaint in the post-liberated fandom world (so I guess for like 20 years) but Idk I still like it when a star stays somewhere for most of their career, feels honorable. Don’t hate the opposite, just don’t love it.

It’s worth noting as a comparison that there was only one group at the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Virginia — the Rise Above Movement — that faced federal criminal charges related to the riot.

The key to writing about Zohran in the mainstream press is that the entire article has to be written with the implication that he is doing something sinister and foolish even without really saying what he did wrong or why people should be mad about it

The reason Peter Thiel destroyed Gawker--the real reason, not them reporting on the available info that he was gay, which they could pass off to dummies as cruel--was how viciously Valleywag reported on his hedge funds performing badly off his picks and guidance.

In 1953 Iran had a functioning democracy. A free press. Seven political parties. Women in universities. Women granted voting rights in municipal councils in 1952. A secular prime minister named Mosaddegh who believed Iran's oil belonged to Iran. The US and Britain decided he had to go.

You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.

‘Succulent Chinese meal’ speech added to Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive
Jack Karlson’s rallying cry of ‘democracy manifest’ added to national collection of sound recordings that hold historical, cultural and aesthetic significance * Get our breaking news email, free app or daily news podcast Thirty-five years ago, when Jack Karlson was hauled into a police car outside a Chinese restaurant in Queensland, he couldn’t have known his bombastic speech would be watched by millions around the world, become a meme and now, be preserved for ever in Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive. Karlson’s declaration – “Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest! … What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?” – is one of nine pieces of audio that have been added to the NFSA’s Sounds of Australia collection this year, along with a pedestrian crossing signal and Missy Higgins’ 2004 hit Scar. The U.S. was responsible for a strike on an Iranian elementary school, an ongoing military investigation found. The inquiry said the strike — which Iranian officials said killed at least 175 people, most of them children — was the result of a targeting mistake. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/11/u...
A photo shows the aftermath of the strike on an Iranian school. A headline reads: "U.S. at Fault in Strike on School in Iran, Preliminary Inquiry Says." More copy reads: "An ongoing military investigation has determined that the strike, which killed mostly children, was the result of a targeting mistake. The finding undercuts President Trump’s claim that Iran could be to blame." Photo by IRIB TV, via Agence France-Presse

hey i wrote about this yesterday and compared our tech oligarchs to the planter class of the South pre-civil war www.patreon.com/posts/152399...
Of course, while the planters were playing their courtly games and taking their Grand Tours of Europe and such, their genteel lives were being funded with cotton money. And that money was being generated (and therefore should have belonged to) the enslaved Black people who did everything from harvesting the planters’ crops to cooking their food to warming their beds, all against their will and with no benefit to themselves. Our era’s aristocrats are playing games of their own while ordinary working people earn them unprecedented amounts of money. They’re injecting human growth hormone to more closely resemble the muscle-bound gods they see themselves as; they’re buying themselves cameos in their favorite TV shows because it makes them seem fun and creative. Elon Musk in particular is notorious for even paying ringers to boost his video game scores by playing as him. Our particular “planters” don’t pose as Arthurian knights, but as MMA fighters with a sideline in content production. One wonders whether the pose was as ridiculous to workers 150 years ago as it is to us today.
