There is only one Earth's atmosphere for all beings on Earth. We, humanity as a whole, probably don't understand that we are using billions of CO2 generators continuously and resulting consequences. More smart science means less stupid politics.

The long-term rate of CO2 growth is currently at a record 24.35 ppm per decade. Net-zero by 2050? 2070? Ain't gonna' happen. Well, it might. But for another reason.

Status of the most recent monthly-averaged greenhouse gases including carbon dioxide (record high), methane, and nitrous oxide (record high). Observational data provided by gml.noaa.gov/ccgg/trends/
Graphic shows three line graph time series of monthly carbon dioxide abundance in ppm (blue line), monthly methane abundance in ppb (red line), and monthly nitrous oxide in ppb (purple line). Graphs are all shown from January 1984 through February 2026/May 2026. Current levels of CO2 are 432 ppm. Current levels of methane are 1940 ppb. Current levels of nitrous oxide are 340 ppb. All graphs show long-term increasing trends along with some interannual variability and seasonality.

Graph of the percent of annual runoff in the Sacramento River that comes between April and July, as snowmelt. This fraction has dropped from over 40% a century ago to just over 30% today -- a decline caused by climate change accelerating snowmelt earlier in the year.
