Scientists at our Rescue a Reef program and Coral Reef Futures lab moved 30 genetically distinct elkhorn corals from offshore nurseries near Miami into temperature controlled land-based tanks. These corals represent some of the last remaining genetic lines from wild Florida populations.

Scientists @davenolan305.bsky.social, GATS, Inc., Embry-Riddle University & @ncar-ucar.bsky.social kicked off CGWaveS campaign (Convective Gravity Waves in the Stratosphere) to study how gravity waves influence the atmosphere. The aim is to improve weather and climate forecasts. Supported by NSF.
A team of scientists from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School, GATS, Inc. Embry-Riddle University and UCAR-NCAR- NSF kick off CGWaveS (Convective Gravity Waves in the Stratosphere) to understand how they form and influence weather.
