The PM says he wants a cross-party coalition on Europe. Excellent. We’ve done the work. Single Market. Customs union. Defence cooperation. I set out the roadmap at Lib Dem conference. A little late to the party, Prime Minister, but you’re very welcome. Here’s my speech: youtu.be/__cQ0AAx-P8?...

I listened to Ed Davey on the Today programme this morning, and frankly, I think he missed the point. The idea that we're keeping the triple lock to help millennials is at best for the birds, and at worst downright insulting. I say that as a millennial.

It really gives the game away when the anti trans orgs are calling the election of the neo nazi party in Germany a "glimmer of hope."
A screenshot of an online article headline from "Inspecting Gender" by Genspect. The main heading reads: "Germany: A Glimmer of Hope for Sex Realists?" Below the title, the summary text asks: "Is the victory of the AfD in Germany a dark day for democracy or a glimmer of hope for sex realists? By David Allison." The bottom metadata displays the Genspect logo, "5 hours ago," and a "Listen" audio option button. In the top right corner, there is a teal "Subscribe" button alongside a circular profile avatar.

It really sets in stark relief the asymmetry of coverage of the "debate" over trans and women's rights across our media. On the GC side court losses are reported as wins, racism is glossed over and hate is endlessly sane-washed. Meanwhile successes on the pro-trans side are met with silence or lies.

It cannot be overstated how essential the mainstreaming of anti-trans sentiment has been to the rise of the far right. The acceptance of hounding trans people in the media laid a path for everything else. There is no answer to the rise of the far right which does not include combatting transphobia.

The struggle to access healthcare has become a universal experience for people across Scotland. We would increase capacity across our NHS, resolve staffing issues with a rolling 10-year NHS Workforce Plan, and increase the efficiency of IT systems to help cut waits.
STV News.

Scots left feeling ‘helpless’ as 17% of calls to NHS 24 abandoned with no answer.

A caller looking for help waited three hours 39 minutes for a response in October 2025, with another caller waiting three hours and 25 minutes.

Sewage was dumped 100,041 times in 2025. It's horrific to find out that sewage dumping is four times as high as we thought it was last year. Yet even that number is likely an underestimate of the true scale of the problem, as Scotland is way behind England on monitoring.

In 2025 trade unions gave £4.9 million to Labour. Individual donors gave £16 million to Reform & £9 million to the Tories. In total Labour raised £10 mill, Reform £19 mill & the Tories £21 mill. If the *unions* are blocking a donor cap, they've lost their minds www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Andy Burnham has dropped his support for capping political donations, causing anger among activists and Labour MPs who have long campaigned for change to the way parties are funded.

The prime minister has decided not to back amendments to the elections bill, which would cap the amount a person or an organisation can give in a single donation, according to government sources.

The decision comes after a lobbying campaign from Labour’s trade union backers, who said amendments to the bill, which returns to parliament for its remaining stages next week, could undermine their ability to donate to the party. It is also a retreat from the support Burnham gave to the idea just a few weeks ago, when he emailed a campaigner for electoral reform to say he would support a donations cap of £500,000.

Dolly Parton on trans rights. God I loved her.
When looking at the issue of anti-trans legislation, Parton said that “I try to get into the human element of it.” Pointing out that she has people in her life who identify as queer and trans, the 77-year-old star said it was important to hear what they’re saying.

“I know and love them all, and I do not judge. And I just see how broken-hearted they get over certain things and I know how real they are,” she said. “I know how important this is to them. That’s who they are. They cannot help that any more than I can help being Dolly Parton, you know, the way people know me. If there’s something to be judged, that is God’s business. But we are all God’s children and how we are is who we are.”
