There's a new "create a pass" feature in Apple Wallet for iOS 27, and I just used it to add library cards, with barcodes. Here are the instructions from Apple's website for how to create a pass in Wallet. support.apple.com/guide/iphon... The "standard" template works well for library cards.

In the Wallet app on iPhone, make your own passes from a physical card, photo, or screenshot.

I picked my daughter(Beatrix, age 7) up from her school play rehearsal and took her to the grocery store with me. I had parked next to the cart return area, and Beatrix was excited to help return the cart before getting into the car. After we got into our car, but before I’d started to drive away, a store employee came to collect the carts in the return area. Beatrix watched through the car window while this young man lined the carts up and stacked them together. 🛒 “He’s doing a cool trick,” She said. “He’s very talented!” She said...

Rain in September
A tropical storm passing by has given us rain today, in Southern California in September. Rain in September is unprecedented, and we won’t leave home again until it stops.  I had been warned of potential rain today, but based on the forecast, it looked like it wouldn’t start until the afternoon. When I woke up for church this morning, it was already rainy. The sidewalks outside were completely wet.  It was raining lightly when I walked out to my car, but raining much harder by the time I got to church for choir warmup.  By the time I got home,...

Writing Weather With Special Characters for Degrees
Recently, I was entering the weather for a blog post. I just type my weather in manually when I want to include it. It was for a review of a book that took place in a region where they use Celsius, so I decided to include my current weather in Fahrenheit and Celsius. In the Apple Weather app, I tapped the option to change between Fahrenheit and Celsius. It was then that I noticed that ℉ and ℃ were not just a regular F and C with the degree° sign symbol, but their own unicode special character. Degree Characters Degree...

Back to School
My kids have already been in school for a week because the school board decided to start the year two weeks earlier than last year, just stealing two weeks of the summer break that we can never get back. They started school(2nd, 4th, and 9th grades) last Thursday. Yes, the first day of school was a Thursday. And then had a complete 5-day week this week. Longest week ever! I’m glad it’s Friday! Happy HTML Day! Maybe you don't have time to write a whole HTML document today. That's ok. Let's write the HTML for a link! Link to your website or any website you want. <a href="https://make.yourownwebsite.org">Make Your Own Website</a> #HTMLDay2026 #HTML #HTMLDay #SmallWeb #Websites
Linking
Linking pages and websites together is what makes the internet a network. The HTML for creating links is an <a>(anchor) tag with an attribute called href.

Writing a link in HTML looks like this.
<a href="about.html">About</a>

The a tag has an opening and closing, just like the other tags we've been using. The text between the tags is what will show on the page for users to click(or tap) to follow the link. In this example, I'm linking to a file called "about.html" and my link's text will say "About". The file needs to be in the same folder as the page I'm putting the link on for it to work with just the file name like this.

If the file is in a subfolder, include the path like this.
<a href="about/index.html">About</a>

And when you're linking to different website, be sure to include the full url like this.
