Spiced chicken pittas with chips. Spiced chicken, warm pittas, salad and crispy homemade chips. Exactly the sort of food I want to eat — just made to work better with my macros. 575 kcal. 48g protein. 65g carbs. 12g fat.
Spiced chicken pitas filled with crisp shredded salad, yoghurt dressing and a vibrant red chilli sauce, topped with fresh coriander and served with chips on the side.

Pedestrianisations and cycle lanes are often accompanied by huge controversy right up until they are implemented, and then they become enormously popular. Part of the reason is the positive change is so immediate and tangible. In the Paris mayor election this year, one candidate wanted to reverse...

Happy Michaelmas! In some parts of Ireland on this day, rent could be paid in geese. If you’re due to pay rent this month, please consider setting a very irritated goose on your landlord in lieu of payment, in the name of upholding important Irish traditions.
A drawing of mine of a goose looking concerned, with a tag around its neck that reads "This month's rent, with thanks".

Screeching about SF law breaking, some context nobody is supplying. The College of Policing's own guidance says a breach of the notification requirement under the 1998 Act does not render a procession or protest unlawful, & does not put an otherwise peaceful assembly outside Article 11 protection.

Ignore for a moment the question about whether Anthropic trains on user sessions. I am I right in reading this as saying that Anthropic's "never-before-discovered" reverse transcriptase was *patented* three years ago?
Dr. Mestre first encountered the enzymes in jumbo phages in 2022 while searching for new reverse transcriptases. He worked briefly as a consultant for ReNegade Therapeutics, which filed a patent in 2023 on a number of reverse transcriptases, including the ones Dr. Mestre found. He is listed as a co-inventor on the patent filing.

Heartbreaking
Marie-Therese Murray approached police lines on Portadown’s Garvaghy Road at 7.40am on Sunday morning holding a placard of her child who died nearby 30 years ago, reports Northern Correspondent Seanín Graham.

Behind her, thousands of protesters linked arms in torrential rain to block a planned Orange Order march from Drumcree church.

It was due to begin 20 minutes later.

“Please, please stop this for the children of both communities ... we don’t want no more violence,” Murray pleaded, sobbing.

Are you looking to be outraged, are you? www.theguardian.com/uk/1999/jul/...
So last weekend in Portadown, when Orangemen were receiving plaudits for restraint, an American woman observer on Garvaghy Road was pulled over a wall and hospitalised by marchers. Saturday evening mass at St John's was disturbed by bandsmen who decided that the roundabout was a traditional and, of course, endless route. One of their newer traditions was to shout the name of Rosemary Nelson, along with those of Robert Hamill, who was kicked to death two years ago and Gavin Tennyson, one of several young Catholics who have committed suicide on the estate in recent months. A year under siege has taken its toll on people's spirits.
