I've just finished a report which saying a 50mph speed limit on a rural single carriageway A-road with direct accesses and priority junctions is incompatible with Vision Zero and should be 40mph maximum and even that's too fast for side impact risk for drivers - it should be 30mph and redesigned.

It’s remarkable how many people can move on a street when those people don’t feel the need to always take a massive car with them. Mobility in cities is about space.
Busy European street with buses filled with people in a long line of people on bikes, waiting for the light to change in a separated, protected bike lane. Imagine if all those people or each in a separate car.

Legal Responses to Road Violence
This Policy Briefing Paper was produced by Professor Sally Kyd, Professor of Law at the University of Leicester, with support from the University of Leicester Institute for Policy. This Policy Briefing Paper draws on research from the University of Leicester exploring the roles of the CPS and police in deterring and responding to road violence. These insights underly the key policy recommendation to reform and reinforce sentencing guidelines in response to rising national rates of road violence.
